Got to hang out with this little (big) stud muffin. I bought him at 10mo in 2006 and it’s hard to believe he’s 18yo now! I don’t stand in the saddle as easy as I used to, but he didn’t move a muscle and stood like such a good boy. BJ and his owner make a great pair, and I couldn’t be happier that he went to such a good home.

Thank you for loving him to the moon and back, and letting me stop by to see him!

Thought for the day, and by no means am I saying anything about the comments of me standing on BJ Sunday. Comments are always welcome.

If you don't trust your horse with your life, wouldn't you worry about your horse possibly not trusting you with his or her life?

My goal in training is to build the trust in a rider and horse, because essentially it is a team. The more your horse trusts you, the less spooked and quick to resist he will be.

So in this picture, yes, I am completely trusting him. But BJ was also trusting that I have his back and am protecting him from harm. I have reattached the picture, because I think it is a beautiful show of that bond you both feel. It's a wonderful feeling, and I highly suggest you take the time with your horse to not only earn his respect, but also his trust. It's amazing what you can accomplish when wokring together as a team. :) hope you enjoy this picture as much as I do. I plan to get it framed for my house, as you don't always see this kind of bond.
