It’s been a little while since our last update…

We’ve had several hopeful pairings over the past few months that unfortunately did not result in litters. Apparently our cats have collectively decided they’re on a bit of a maternity hiatus and not particularly interested in going according to OUR plans. 😅

Right now we are waiting to see if Duchess and Pearl are expecting. We should know within the next couple of weeks whether their pairings were successful. 🤞

Athena was in heat about a week ago and was paired as well, so we still have several weeks before we’ll know if that match resulted in a pregnancy.

Meanwhile, Damsel is currently in heat and on her “date,” so we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a successful pairing there too.

The good news in all of this is that Pearl’s pyometra treatment a little over a month ago was successful, and she has recovered beautifully (including going into heat immediately after - Which is excellent!). We’re incredibly grateful for that outcome.

For now, we’re simply waiting patiently for the cats to decide when the timing is right. If they keep us waiting too long, we may have to resort to mild threats… like a potential shortage of Churu treats in the house. (Nothing serious, of course. 😉)

On another note, our sweet baby Daphne has had her first couple of heats, and we’re looking forward to pairing her with Sterling later this year once her health testing is complete.

And finally… we also have a new addition that we’ll be announcing very soon. 🤩

Stay tuned, and enjoy this photo of Duchess basking on the table (where she absolutely knows she isn’t supposed to be… but she’s far too cute to tell no).

Pearl (and honestly, us humans too) had a rough January.

She was diagnosed with open pyometra, a life-threatening uterine infection and one of the most serious risks intact females can face. It is scary, unpredictable, and not something any breeder takes lightly.

After aggressive treatment and very close monitoring, Pearl successfully cleared the infection. I am incredibly thankful for that outcome. Pyometra does not always end this way.

Now that she has recovered, Pearl has been bred back to Prince. From here, we wait and watch. She will continue to be monitored closely as she moves forward, though everything so far points to a normal, healthy recovery.

Breeding responsibly means acknowledging the risks, not glossing over them, and making decisions based on the individual cat in front of you. 🙏

Daphne - TICA Baytown, TX “TO MEOWTER SPACE AND BEYOND”

Daphne’s first TICA show was also in Baytown this week. She earned First in Color in every ring and finished Second in Division in every ring.

She did exactly what we hoped for a first outing, and we’re looking forward to her next show. 🙌

Sterling - TICA Baytown, TX “TO MEOWTER SPACE AND BEYOND”

Sterling’s first TICA show was in Baytown this past weekend. He earned First in Color in every ring and finished Third in Division in one ring.

Sterling showed in WCF previously, but his last show was well over a year ago and across the ocean.

Great start for him, and we’re excited to keep showing. 🥰

Damsel (Queen) is in really nice coat right now - She looks incredible. 😘

We’re trying for a Sterling pairing with her, but he still hasn’t had a confirmed successful cover (two heats without success). We’ll give it another month or two and see if he gets it together. If not, we’ll do a repeat pairing with Prince (repeat of our A litter).

Wishing all of our followers a very Merry Christmas 🎄✨ Featuring our future queen, Pearl 💗

And with it being 80°+ in Texas, our cats have no clue it’s supposed to be winter. 😅 If all goes as planned, Pearl may be expecting her first litter with Prince (Christmas magic, indeed).🤍

P.S. We may have a couple more queens quietly “cooking” as well… all pending confirmation in about 6 weeks. 🤫💗

Courtesy post for a friend – Adult male Maine C**n looking for a pet home (not for breeding)

———

Azrael was born on March 10th, 2023. He weighs about 15 lbs. His official color is black bicolor ticked tabby. He has a pedigree, is TICA registered, clear DNA, HCM clear, and has Grade 2 hips per PawPeds, so he is being placed as a pet only, not for breeding. I have TICA pet insurance which is transferable if interested.

He has motion sickness and gets anxious when being transferred, so we try to make the least amount of trips to the vet. He has a stud tail that needs maintaining, but that will hopefully improve after neutering. The vet states he will make a great healthy pet! He is up to date with vaccinations, deworming, and vet check-ups.

He is a King and he knows it. He will claim the highest level on cat trees and the best place on the couch. He may take a little time to trust you, but once he does, he is the most affectionate Maine C**n I know. He loves children and other cats, and he is good with dogs and lizards!

Azrael loves playing hunt with fishing poles and is a great fly catcher. He enjoys evening outings in the catio and sitting by the window to watch people pass by. He receives the kids at the door when they are back from school and loves treats! He will pursue cuddles and likes to be brushed. He’s used to taking regular baths with a shower head, although he does not love water.

He eats some raw food but prefers dry, and he’s been fed Royal Canin and Purina One dry food. He loves his water fountain! He will make the best companion to any person that shows him love and interest.

He’s going to go home not neutered, and his registration will be turned over after proof of neuter. Pet home only, not for breeding.

Thank you!

Queen Athena 🩶

We’re hoping this beautiful girl is cooking up our very first Sterling kittens.

Sterling had a little “practice round” with Damsel a couple of weeks ago that didn’t take, so fingers crossed he’s figured it out this time. 😏

We’ll know in a couple of weeks if there are beautiful babies on the way. 🥰

On Monday we packed up a couple of the cats and drove to Arkansas (between tornado warnings and thunderstorms) for heart scans at an HCM Clinic hosted by Snowy River Maine C**ns ❤️

We brought:
- Prince (ns male), our foundational king and sire of Litters A and B, for his annual echo.
- Pearl (es22 female), our newest queen that we recently introduced on this page.
- Athena (fs22 female), another new queen who we introduced to the page this month.

All three had normal echocardiograms, and the board-certified cardiologist has already submitted their results to PawPeds. The cats handled the trip well, and we were back home before Thanksgiving. 🙌🦃

Regular heart screening with a board-certified cardiologist is part of our standard health testing for breeding cats here.

If you want to know what HCM is and why we do yearly echos on our breeding cats, there is a full explanation in the HCM section of the FAQ on our website.

We are pleased with the result of three clean hearts which is a good start for the litters we have planned from these cats in 2026. 🤍

I have another announcement I’ve been dying to share. 🤭 I’m so excited to officially welcome Pearl to our program! ✨

Pearl is a Cream Silver Classic Tabby (es22) female who brings in new lines that pair well with our males. She has a clean profile, nice head, good bone, a glorious tail, and a sweet, people-oriented temperament. She turned 1 year old this month. Pearl has completed her health testing as of Tuesday and is cleared as our next queen. We plan to breed her to Prince as soon as she comes into her next heat, expected between now and January. As a plus, she’ll broaden our color options, including red and cream for boys, and torbie/tortie for girls (when paired with Prince or Sterling).

Help me welcome our queen, Pearl. 🥰🙇‍♀️

Miss Duchess is finally getting some one-on-one couch time now that her July Bridgerton kittens are all off being spoiled in their new homes. 🥹

She’s currently very sure she needs a boyfriend again (in full heat over here 😅), but she’ll be waiting until January for her next pairing. Our plan is to repeat her breeding with Prince - We were really pleased with the structure, temperaments, and consistency in that litter, so we’re looking to repeat that.

For now she’s back to hanging out with the other queens, racing through the house between naps, extra snacks, and all the attention. 🥰
