Houston Boxer Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, all volunteer, total foster care (no kennel facility) organization. HBR is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, health, and re-homing of abused, abandoned, neglected, or surrendered boxers within the Houston Metroplex and beyond. No officer or volunteer of Houston Boxer Rescue is compensated for their services. Rescue is a commitment of the heart,

a labor of love. We are serious about changing the lives of boxers that come through our program. Our goal for the dogs we rescue is a loving and secure forever future in a home that has been vetted by an experienced volunteer. We strive to match the needs and character of a particular animal to the home environment of an approved adopter. Houston Boxer Rescue depends totally upon donations from like-minded, compassionate people. ✨ FROM SURVIVING TO THRIVING ✨

Meet Hewitt! Talk about a transformation!

At only 18 months old, I was barely hanging on. My body was covered in painful skin infections, my bones showed through my skin, and I was dangerously close to the Rainbow Bridge.

But someone cared.

That chance led me to Houston Boxer Rescue, where I received food, medical care, and something I had almost forgotten existed... love.

Today, I'm healthy, happy, and discovering how wonderful life can be. My foster dad says I'm a people-loving cuddle bug who never turns down affection. I love toys, playing with my canine friends, rolling in the grass, and soaking up the sunshine.

I'm house-trained, crate-trained, and I'll even let you know when I need to go outside.

Most of all, I'm ready. Ready for a family, ready for adventures, ready to be loved.

My rescue story isn't complete yet because I'm still searching for the final piece—the family that will love me forever.

We need your help. This injured Bulldog mix is on a front porch in The Groves subdivision. If he looks familiar or you know his owner please message us so we can get him back home!

🚨 WE DESPERATELY NEED FOSTERS 🚨

This is one of the hardest truths in rescue:

Without fosters… we cannot save more dogs.

Every time we say “yes” to a boxer in need, we need a safe place for them to land. Right now, the need is overwhelming — and without more foster homes, we are being forced to make heartbreaking decisions.

Dogs are waiting.
Some are scared.
Some have been abandoned.
Some are sitting in shelters confused and running out of time.

And the only thing standing between them and safety… is an open foster home.

Fostering is not forever.
It is simply giving a boxer a temporary place to feel safe, loved, and protected while they wait for their forever family.

Houston Boxer Rescue provides support, guidance, and works tirelessly to help these dogs — but we cannot do it alone.

If you’ve ever thought about fostering, now is the time.

Because without fosters…
there is no rescue.
