🧠 Our human brains have a picture in our mind what the end behavior, or skill, should look like. But the journey leading up to these finished products can sometimes be overlooked by wanting to get to that finish line so quickly!

💥 Often times we are so focused on that perfect, finished product that we repeat imperfect reps over and over again hoping to get that final "perfect" skill. These imperfect reps often don't get rewarded and the dogs tend to check out.

🐶 As we start, and continue, training with our dogs it's important to remember to always reward effort! If our teammate is working with us, they need to get rewarded!

🌟 The more a behavior is reinforced, the more likely that behavior is to be repeated.

🎉 Enjoy the journey, reward your teammate, and carry on!

When training anything, patience is key. Dogs don’t always understand what we want from them right away. Break it up into smaller sections, reward effort and keep it fun!
