4 Houston boarding facilities have found themselves in the same situation, a rescue group pulled dogs from the euthanasia list at BARC, the Houston high-kill shelter, and placed them in boarding. Over time, the rescue has shown that it is unable to adopt the dogs out or pay their bills in a timely manner, leaving both the humans and the dogs in dire straights.
At this time we have a total of 40 dogs in boarding. We are asking for your help. The most helpful thing that can be done at this time is to find rescues for the dogs. Sponsoring a dog while in boarding would also be lovely. Fostering, of course, is the Shangri-La.
In the event we are unable to find solutions for the unfortunate 40, they will be systematically returned to BARC. Two per day will be returned to the shelter. No one wants this. Also, no one wants to lose their business. The count down begins 9/5/2022.
This is a very unfortunate situation. We have no desire to criticize, fight, argue, etc. We simply want to help the dogs and keep our businesses in the process. Your help is essential to our success. Thank you.
