Raw chicken feet

Another topic is proactive joint support for shih tzus.

Starting with Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and Omega 3 additions to their meals.

Top natural food sources :
- chicken feet and duck feet
- beef trachea
- oxtail, pig tail, duck neck, turkey neck
- eggshell membrane

I haven't experienced with how adding the above additions topping their food, except raw chicken feet with hand-feeding offering by me to them, that my pups excitedly accepted those as their delicious treat.

Quiet for a long time for me to make a post here. Today, there's an interesting topic regarding shih tzu coat transformation to talk about. Specifically, about Cashmere.

Cashmere completed her coat transition.

In the 1st picture, Cashmere was the dark brown puppy with darker face mask muzzle laying with her siblings and her mom Lucia.
The 2nd picture was Cashmere, with her current hair coat.

This specific transformation is a very common genetic phenomenon in shih tzus, often referred to as "sable clearing".

The science behind her golden glow that being curiously found:
- gene G locus targets brown (liver or red) and black pigments most aggressively. As her coat grew, the gene actively cut off the production of intense dark pigment, turning her deep brown body fur into soft, beautiful tan/blonde coat (almost as that of her mom Lucia)
- the deep dark brown mask on her muzzle was a localized concentration of that same intense pigment, and gene G cleared it out completely. The dark hair tips were trimmed away during her first puppy haircuts, leaving behind the clear, lighter roots.

It's incredibly rewarding to watch Cashmere puppy completely changed her look as she grows up.

Cashmere is going to be 3 years old in next 3 weeks. Her current coat is likely settled into her permanent adult color shade though her human parents and sister might still see her subtle shade shifts - like her tan/blonde coat looking slightly richer or cooler depending on the season, or how long her hair grows, or how recently she's been groomed.
