Good dogs. Good people. Good work.

More from Black Leash K9 coming soon.

Great Dane working through the beginning stages of heel position training.

At this stage, we're focused on engagement, understanding, and building value in the position. Every correct choice is rewarded, every session is designed to create clarity, and we finish with a jackpot reward to make learning fun and rewarding for the dog.

A lot of people only see the finished product. What they don't see are the hundreds of small repetitions that build a reliable, focused dog.

Training isn't about forcing behavior—it's about teaching the dog how to win.

Chocolate Lab working an implied sit distance stay.

Applying leash pressure while reinforcing commitment to position. The reward comes from staying engaged and making the correct choice under pressure.

Clear communication. Consistent repetitions. Reliable obedience.

One thing social media doesn't show enough is the bad training days.

Today wasn't our best session.

The dog struggled, we didn't make as much progress as I wanted.

But that's dog training.

Not every session is a breakthrough.

Some days you're building. Some days you're maintaining. Some days you're learning what doesn't work.

The important thing is showing up tomorrow and doing it again.

We'll adjust the plan, stay consistent, and keep moving forward.

That's how real progress is made.
