So, you think you want to foster? Is it hard? Is it fun? Joyful? Painful? Scary? Exciting?

Yes!! All of the above. It's truly a privilege to care for kittens and get them ready for their forever homes. Feeding, cuddling, cleaning, medicating, loving. Then comes the day when it's time for them to move on. There's always one - at least one - that makes you question letting go. Who will adopt her? Won't I miss her?

This is Ayla. This time, she's the one. She is a gentle sweetheart. I love her dearly and if she leaves me her new family better be worthy.

Thank you to all the foster families. You are the reason we have such friendly, loving cats. Fostering is not for sissies!!

It's Ginger Cat Appreciation Day, when we celebrate those bright, sunny, orange beauties. These outgoing, playful, affectionate cats are favorites of kitty lovers everywhere. Mostly males (80%), gingers all have tabby coat patterns underneath their orange glow. Their colors range from deep tangerine to soft buff shades, but every one is a golden treasure.

Say hello to Koal! 🐈‍⬛ Koal is a long-haired black bundle of softness ☁️ with a gorgeous, glossy coat ✨ and a wonderfully relaxed personality. He’s a total lovebug who always wants to be where the people are. The moment you sit down, he’s there for snuggles and attention. 🥰

Koal and his siblings were born into a cat colony. After weaning, and in a beautiful act of trust, their semi-feral mother presented her litter to the colony caregiver for safe-keeping. There, they were pampered and prepared for their forever homes.

Now Koal is ready for you! 🏠 Stop by to meet him and feel his silky fur for yourself. He might just be your perfect match! 🖤🐾

Just a quick hello from Guardian Angels Cat Rescue and Thrift Shop. It was a busy day here with lots of traffic in the store and shelter. We’re so thankful for everyone who stopped in and everyone who engaged with us on social media. A heartfelt congratulations to Speedy, Perrin, and Larvey and their new famililes!

🐾🖤 Pet of the Week: Travis & Thoth!
This week we’d like to feature two of our super‑secret cats, Travis and Thoth! They are a staff favorite. These handsome and elusive boys are two of the absolute most loving cats in the shelter — but you’ll never see it during business hours.

The noise and hubbub of day‑to‑day operations send these boys straight to their hiding spots. However, once the shelter quiets down, they’re out and about looking for pets and playtime!

We’d love for these two to go as a pair. If you’re interested, we recommend making an appointment rather than visiting while we’re open to the public.
