We can not stress how important it is to get your puppies vaccinated. If you are picking out a puppy it should have had at least 1 vaccination by 6-8 weeks when you bring it home! We have had parvo going around with unvaccinated puppies. We also stress that puppies need multiple boosters to have adequate parvo and distemper coverage and they should not be around other dogs until they have had these vaccines!! Parvo is highly contagious and can be fatal, distemper is also highly fatal! Please do not wait to vaccinate your dogs.
Rabies vaccinations can be given starting at 12 week of age. Dogs that bite someone and are not vaccinated will be tested for Rabies-the ONLY way to do so is to test the brain!
Rabies vaccines in pets protect people and distemper vaccinations in pets protect them from other pets!
We also stress; pets are a lifelong commitment, if you cannot afford routine vaccinations and care please do not get one, you are only putting those animals at increased risk of disease and suffering!
