Adding obstacles to your blind and retrieval drills is where your creativity helps build your dogs confidence and focus. Keeping the line we send them on is a basic foundation for good blind work and accurate retrieval of a mark.
This simple set up cost less than $20 and is easy to take with you anywhere so you can implement it in various settings.

Beautiful day for some focus work. In this drill obviously we have some mild honoring work going on and steadiness but there’s more going on than a video can show on the surface. Both of these dogs know this drill but it works as a confidence and focus exercise. In the next video I’ll walk away from the dogs which will add another level of focus challenge. Mental and physical conditioning are both essential for the maintenance,development and progress of a dog. This is a great drill for the mind. We can adjust it to become more or less physically demanding as well.

We had an awesome time at the Delta Waterfowl Wolf River Chapter banquet last night. Our Maple Leaf table did pretty well on prizes. Can’t wait to use Ryan Off The Grid’s new coot plunger! Made some new friends and laughed a lot.
This is the best put on banquet every year. If you haven’t been to one, you’re wrong till you do.
