Real estate is so much more than showing homes and handing over keys. ❤️
Sometimes, it means walking alongside our clients through heartbreak, unexpected devastation, and situations no one could have imagined.
This home suffered catastrophic water damage after an appraiser believed the water had been turned off and left the property. Unfortunately, the shower continued running for 9 full days.
The boiler heated the water in the hot water tank, allowing hot water to continue running for those nine days. The home essentially became a sauna, and the damage has been extensive. As you can see, the home is now being gutted.
But behind the damage, the construction, and the cleanup is a much deeper heartbreak.
This was their dad’s home, and he had recently passed away. Instead of being able to focus on memories and the process of settling his estate, this family is now facing the overwhelming emotional and financial stress of an unexpected disaster.
As real estate agents, we celebrate with our clients when they find their dream home, and we work hard to guide them through the challenges of buying and selling. But sometimes, we also stand beside them when life takes a devastating turn.
This is the side of real estate people don't always see.
It’s not just about houses. It’s about people, families, memories, and being there when they need someone in their corner.
My heart goes out to these sellers as they navigate this incredibly difficult situation. ❤️
