Hi, I'm Opie! 🥹❤

Intake type: Surrender
DOB: 10/13/2023
Gender: Male
Breed: Boxer Mix
Energy Level: Low/Medium
Weight: 56lbs

My story is a bit of a sad one, as my world was recently turned upside down, but I am staying positive and hopeful for my future. 🤞 Prior to coming to the shelter, I spent my days and nights with the only family I ever had, my human dad. He unfortunately became ill and passed unexpectedly, and that is how I ended up here. 💔

I miss him so much, but my shelter family has been helping me become more confident with making new human friends. I may be a little shy at first, but once you give me a couple gentle pets I prefer to snuggle (or at least attempt to snuggle) right into your lap! I love being attached to my shelter human's hips at any given chance.. I've heard the term "velcro dog" a couple times, whatever that means. 🤷 I haven't met any other dogs at the shelter yet, but I did have a cat sibling previously.

Hi, I'm Nelly Jane! 💗

Intake type: Surrender
DOB: 11/03/2025
Gender: Spayed Female
Breed: Shepherd/Lab Mix
Energy Level: Medium
Weight: 57lbs

I heard you were looking for a new best friend.. you're in luck because I've never met a stranger! My shelter family describes me as "happy-go-lucky" which makes sense because I am a little ray of sunshine. I have loved meeting new people at the shelter, but what I am most excited for is meeting my forever family! I dream of going on long walks with them, playing fetch, and then curling up on the couch after all of our adventures. I have lived with other dogs previously so I may be open to a doggo sibling. As always, we will do a meet and greet to make sure it's the perfect fit for everyone!

If you think I'd make the perfect addition to your home (I mean look at me, I'm sure you do!).. click here to fill out an adoption application: https://www.hornellanimalshelter.org/Adoptionprocessandfees

Thankful Thursday ❤️🐾

We’ve truly hit the jackpot with amazing volunteers, so this Thursday we would like to thank and recognize them! We could not do the work we do without them and we (animals included) are incredibly thankful for all they do! These photos are a small glimpse of some of the wonderful people that give their time to make a difference in the lives of shelter animals! ❤️🐾😻

If you’re interested in joining them, you can find more information about volunteering here: https://www.hornellanimalshelter.org/volunteer4130df89
