assistance by partnering with VetTriage.

When you have a pet health concern after normal business hours, VetTriage veterinarians are on standby 24 hours a day to assist. After completing the 3 step process below, you will be connected to the VetTriage veterinarians on a live video chat session. They will triage your pet and give you at-home care guidance, or if they determine hospital care is necessary, coordinate your visit to the nearest emergency services.

Steps to Connect:
1. Go to www.vettriage.com/avsny using your mobile device or computer with camera.
2. Follow the instructions on the VetTriage page and at Step 2 enter payment info. Then at Step 3 request your session with a vet.
3. The vet will join in minutes and triage your pet.

We do not accept CareCredit or other similar financing options.
We do not process any pet insurance claims on your behalf. Claims should be made directly to your pet insurance provider for reimbursement.

We offer emergency care on a case-by-case basis. Outside of business hours, clients may contact:

Affordable Veterinary Service will be closing December 19th, 2025, at the Bennett Street location and moving to181 Seneca Street, Suite 2, Hornell. They will resume services on January 5th, 2026, at the new location!

Affordable Veterinary Service was founded in 1996 by Dr. Lillian Ramos. Dr. Ramos and her team have been providing quality veterinary care and services to pets in the areas surrounding Hornell, NY, from Avoca to Andover. We care for companion pets, like cats and dogs, and exotic pets, like birds and rabbits. Preventive care, medical examinations, dental care, surgical operations, and recovery care are just a few of our many services. We also have an online pharmacy where you can order any of your pet’s prescriptions.
