The truth is, we believe many veterinarians and veterinary technicians share these same concerns and opinions. Unfortunately, far too many have been silenced, intimidated, or afraid to speak openly because of the power and influence of those in positions of authority.

What she wrote was honest, courageous, and desperately needed. People should not be afraid to speak the truth about their experiences.

It’s time for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and the entire veterinary community to stand together. We cannot continue allowing fear, intimidation, and bullying to silence people.

When good people stay silent, nothing changes. It’s time to stand up, speak out, and demand accountability.

🦨 When Your Dog Gets a Little Too Close to Nature 😂

Got a doggone pup who got absolutely DOUSED by a skunk? 🦨💦

Before you panic and consider moving to a new neighborhood, here’s an all-natural skunk odor remedy recommended by Dr. Margo Roman:

🧪 Skunk Stink-Busting Recipe:

* 1 quart hydrogen peroxide
* 1 cup Citrus Magic
* ½ cup baking soda

Mix it all together, wash it into the coat, and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Then rinse REALLY well. 🚿

If your pup still smells like they’ve been personally invited to the skunk convention, repeat as necessary! 😂🦨

⚠️ Important: Avoid the eyes, nose, and mouth, and use the mixture immediately after preparing it. Don’t store leftovers in a closed container.

Because apparently, “Who needs a bath?” was NOT the right answer when your dog decided to make friends with a skunk. 🤦‍♀️🐶💨

Pic of Walter, Vienna and Malama for attention 😍

Got a pup who doesn’t want their toys or have too many? We are looking for donations of new or gently used toys for our clinic prize buckets. We give these to pets (to hopefully relieve some stress) who come in for a treatment and they get to take it home. Feel free to message /call us at the clinic.

Friendly Reminder:

Due to the current situation with Dr. Margo Roman’s Massachusetts veterinary license, we cannot see patients or provide treatments unless we have a referral from a currently licensed veterinarian.

The only exceptions are patients who have been examined by one of the following veterinarians within the past year:

* Dr. Melissa Shaw
* Dr. Jennifer Whitmore
* Dr. Alexandra Kilgore

If your pet’s last exam was with one of the veterinarians listed above and they prescribed treatments, we can continue those treatments.

If your pet’s most recent examination falls outside of these exceptions, you will need a referral from your licensed DVM. The referral can be submitted directly by your veterinarian using the online form:

https://form.jotform.com/262155864898172

At this time, we can provide:

* Nutritional consultations
* Ozone therapy
* Microbiome Replacement Therapy (MBRT)
* X-rays, with a valid prescription/order from a licensed DVM

Please note that, unless your pet falls under one of the exceptions listed above, we cannot order laboratory testing, or prescribe medications.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work within the current Massachusetts veterinary licensing requirements.

Important Information Regarding Care at MASH

Dear MASH Clients and Friends,

For more than 40 years, it has been our privilege to care for your beloved animals through compassionate, thoughtful, and integrative veterinary medicine. Many of you have contacted us with understandable questions about whether MASH will continue to provide the specialized care that you and your pets have relied upon for many years.

We want to explain our current status and the process for continuing your pet's care.

Current Status

Margo R. Roman, DVM, CVA, FAAO is not currently licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. As a result, she cannot perform services that Massachusetts law reserves exclusively for licensed veterinarians.

MASH is committed to complying with all applicable Massachusetts laws and regulations. We will not represent Margo Roman as practicing veterinary medicine in Massachusetts while her Massachusetts veterinary license remains inactive.

Although she is not currently licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Massachusetts, Margo Roman continues to hold her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and brings 48 years of education, clinical experience, research, teaching, publication, and innovation in integrative veterinary medicine. Within the limits of applicable law, she may provide services that are legally permitted, including consultation, animal health coaching, client education, technical support, research, and assisting the MASH team in collaboration with a licensed veterinarian.

How Your Pet Can Receive Care at MASH

To receive care at MASH, a referral from a licensed veterinarian is required.

A referral form is available on our website. Your primary veterinarian, or another veterinarian currently licensed to practice, may complete the referral and provide your pet's medical records so that care can be coordinated appropriately.

MASH will work collaboratively with your referring veterinarian to help provide the integrative services that have become the hallmark of our practice while remaining in compliance with Massachusetts law.

Our Commitment to Integrative Care

For decades, MASH has developed treatment approaches that are uncommon in Massachusetts and throughout New England, including microbiome restorative therapy, medical ozone therapy, acupuncture, nutritional medicine, rehabilitation, and other integrative modalities designed to complement conventional veterinary care.

Many of you have shared with us that these services have made a meaningful difference in your pets' health and quality of life, and that you have been unable to find comparable care elsewhere. We are deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in our team over the years.

Our philosophy has always been that every family deserves to understand all reasonable treatment options available for their pet so they can make informed decisions together with their veterinary team.

Our guiding principle remains:

"When there's life, there's hope."

Looking Forward

We are actively seeking a Massachusetts-licensed veterinarian who shares our commitment to compassionate, individualized, and integrative veterinary medicine and who can join the MASH team so these services remain available to our community.

At the same time, Margo Roman is pursuing all available legal avenues to challenge the Massachusetts Board's decision because she believes the Board's actions were unjust and inconsistent with the principles of individualized veterinary care and professional judgment. That legal process is ongoing.

During this process, our highest priority is ensuring that your animals continue to have access to the specialized care they need while fully complying with Massachusetts law.

We sincerely appreciate your continued trust, encouragement, and support. It has been an honor to care for your animals, and we remain committed to helping you navigate this transition while continuing to provide compassionate, thoughtful, integrative care.

With gratitude,

Margo R. Roman, DVM, CVA, FAAO
