Can I bathe my dog at home between grooming appointments?
The short answer: Absolutely!

Bathing your dog between professional grooms can help keep them clean, comfortable, and smelling fresh but there are a few important things to remember:
✨ Ensure your dog’s coat is tangle free before bathing. If not, stop here and call a professional.
✨ Use a high quality shampoo that’s specifically made for dogs.
✨ Rinse thoroughly to prevent skin irritation.
✨ Dry your pup completely. Air drying can contribute to matting, fungal infections, and that classic “wet dog” smell
✨ Avoid overbathing. For most dogs, more than once a week can strip natural oils and lead to dry, itchy skin.

Professional grooming is about much more than a bath, but keeping your pup clean at home between appointments is a great way to support healthy skin and coat.

✨A little prep goes a long way✨

Want the best grooming experience possible for your pup? A few simple things before your appointment can make a world of difference, for your dog and your groomer.
🐾 DO:
•Brush your pup (if possible)
• Let us know about any health or behavior changes
• Give them a potty walk before arriving
• Stay current on flea prevention
• Arrive on time
• Bring them in with a secure leash, harness or carrier
🚫 DON’T:
• Feed a large meal right before grooming
• Bring your pup if they’re sick
• Arrive late
• Trim or shave them yourself before the appointment
• Forget to mention anxiety, aggression, or other behavioral concerns
• Rush pickup, we’ll let you know when your pup is ready!
