One of the hardest part about self blame in pet loss grief 🌈, is that it can feel productive.
It can feel like you're doing something. Solving something. Finding the missing piece that will finally make what happened make more sense.
But for many people, the search never ends.
Not because you haven't looked hard enough. Not because you've missed something. But because some losses leave us with questions that don't have the answers our hearts are desperate for.
I've sat with many grieving pet guardians who can list every appointment, every medication, every decision, every conversation and every moment they wish had gone differently.
What they often struggle to remember are the thousands of cared for moments that came before.
The meals, the walks, the comfort, the protection, the routines and so much love and care. 🤍
Pet grief has a way of placing a spotlight on the final chapter while everything else seems to fade into the background.
If self blame has been visiting you lately, perhaps today isn't about trying to find evidence against yourself.
Perhaps today is about remembering the bigger story.
The one that was built from love, care, devotion and a bond that matters so very much.
📌If this resonated, save it for the days your heart needs some compassion.
