Your pet’s recovery doesn’t stop when they leave the hospital. A few simple steps can help support a safe and comfortable recovery:

🏡 Keep activity restricted. Follow your surgical team’s instructions for walks, exercise, jumping, and stairs.

🩹 Protect the incision. Keep the surgical site clean and dry, and check it daily for changes.

🛑 Keep the cone on. Prevent licking, chewing, or scratching at the incision, even if your pet seems comfortable.

💊 Give medications exactly as directed. Complete medications as prescribed and contact your veterinary team if you have questions.

📞 Know when to call. Contact your veterinary team if you notice significant swelling, discharge, opening of the incision, worsening pain, vomiting, lethargy, or other concerning changes.

Every procedure and patient is different, so always follow the specific discharge instructions provided by your surgical team.
