Here's a couple videos on trimming your heirloom tomato plants. Remember, tomatoes, like humans, cannot reach their full potential unless we get rid of what's holding them back. Trim away friends!

Friends,

I've moved from Hooper and my brother-in-law is now the Tomato King. Check out Ogden Bay Produce. They are getting really close to opening a U-pick garden or you can get some ripe tomatos from the McFarland corn stands.

This might be the last weekend that we have tomatoes so come and pick your own bushel. This Saturday 8-12. $10 a bushel. Tell your friends.

I'm picking fresh, vine ripened tomatoes in the morning. Let me know if you want some. $25 a bushel.

Homemade Marinara Sauce:
3 lbs ripe tomatoes
2 Cloves of garlic
2 tbs olive oil
Sprig of fresh basil
1 tsp salt

Start by blanching the tomatoes and peeling the skins. Next heat up a skillet and start to sauté the garlic. Add the tomatoes, salt and basil. Cook over medium heat for 20 minutes until most of the juice has evaporated. Pull out the sprig of basil and serve with your favorite pasta and warm homemade bread.
