ADOPTED!!
🐾 Over 2 years. That's how long Butch waited for his forever home, and we never stopped believing in him.

When Butch came to us in 2023, he had a heart the size of Oregon and one big challenge: other dogs. Because of it, he spent more than two years living apart from our other shelter dogs. Days turned into seasons, and seasons into years. He watched dogs come and go, adopted into their new families, while he waited, still hopeful, still wagging.

Then Caylee () and her 12-year-old daughter, stepped up and took him on as a training project. With patience, practice, and countless small victories, the dog who couldn't share a sidewalk learned to share space.

Today, Butch is home with a veteran who found in him exactly what he needed. Two years of waiting led to a perfect match🥰

Thank you to Caylee and Bella for believing in him, to everyone on our team and community who kept cheering him on, and to Butch's new person, who needed him as much as he needed them!!❤️🐾

Getting a dog out of the shelter helps us understand more about their personality. Buck had a sleepover with one of our shelter staff and got to know him a bit, here’s what she learned:

🐾 Buck loves to snuggle
🐾 Buck likes to play with kids
🐾 Buck can understand Spanish
🐾 Buck likes to beg for treats, and watch TV

Basically, the perfect family dog. Consider foster or adoption for Buck! Apply here: https://tinyurl.com/HRAAD-Adoptions

4th graders at Parkdale Elementary School created flyers for some of our adoptable dogs 🐶 We loved their heartfelt creativity so much, we hung them in the office window at the shelter. Thank you to Ms. Quinn’s 4th graders 🥺💖
