Our philosophy is simply to provide horses with the best welfare management and most ethical humane training available based on current scientific research. We are constantly evolving in our approach and management to meet this criteria. Our horsemanship program, both on and off the horse, is focused on giving students of all ages a well rounded education and experience with our equines. This post has nothing to do with horses. However, we have a new regular visitor to the feral cat feeding station in the arena.  It’s a juvenile raccoon from last year. I don’t know if it’s male or female, but I call it Junior. It comes in and eats and then drinks and then crashes. I’m wondering if it thinks it’s just one of the cats. For their part, the cats are not really bothered by this visitor. These pics are from tonight.

New student, Glenna, learning the basics on my top lesson horse, Juno. This is a great tool to start beginners or to assess riding seat and position for more experienced riders. I love it because the horse doesn’t have to tolerate a student who may need more work on balance. I think that’s why a lot of lesson horses are shut down and not happy in their work. I would rather start students mapping the correct neural pathways to build foundational skills on Juno before they actually ride one of my horses.
