💔 $5 FRIDAY FOR HICCUP 💔

The news wasn’t what we were hoping for.

Hiccup’s leg is definitely broken and will require surgery. We’re still waiting on the final estimate, but we expect the cost to be around $3,500.

The good news? Hiccup is young, and his veterinarian expects him to make an excellent recovery and go on to live a long, pain-free life.

If you’d like to help, this week’s $5 Friday will go toward Hiccup’s surgery fund.

Thank you for always being there when dogs like Hiccup need you most. ❤️🐾

How has this dog not received a SINGLE application?

I’m genuinely asking.

Justin is about 17 pounds. He loves people, likes other dogs, and would be wonderful for children. If you have kids of your own or grandchildren, this is your guy.

He wants nothing more than to be by your side, watch TV with you, and greet you like you hung the moon every time you walk through the door.

Yet not one person has applied to adopt him. He is also Heartworm and Chagas negative.

Justin came to Tracy’s Paws near the beginning of 2026 after being found abandoned in an apartment with 40 other dogs. Given everything he has been through, you would expect him to be fearful or withdrawn.

Instead, he is one of the kindest, sweetest souls here.

He can’t get close enough to his people. And when he’s not with them, he cries because he simply wants to belong.

I call dogs like Justin “hidden gems.” The dogs everyone overlooks while searching for something special, not realizing the special one has been right in front of them all along.

If you’re looking for a best friend, a family dog, and a loyal companion who will love you with his whole heart, please take a look at Justin.

And if you can’t adopt, please share. Somewhere out there is the family Justin has been waiting for. We just need to help them find him.

If you’d like to make this sweet dog part of your family, please review our adoption process and complete an application here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt

I feel like a proud mama posting this picture.

We are getting very close to putting Dove up for adoption, and watching her prance around here with her personality shining brighter every day has been such a gift. She lights up every room she enters and seems genuinely grateful to be here, enjoying her stay as a cherished guest at The Milton.

I love all the dogs who come through our program, and I wish I could personally highlight every single one of them. Each has something unique and beautiful to offer the world. In many ways, they are just like us. We all have qualities that make us special and things we are still working on.

The truth is, we are not all that different from our canine friends.

The one thing I believe dogs have completely mastered is living in the moment. They don’t dwell on yesterday, and they don’t worry about tomorrow. If we could learn to truly live like a dog, I think we’d find happiness every day of our lives.

Dove hasn’t looked back since the moment she arrived here. She has embraced every new day with joy, resilience, and an open heart. Watching her blossom has brought tears to my eyes more than once.

I am so very proud of her.

I love this little dog, and every other dog here at Tracy’s Paws..each and every one of them. They all leave paw prints on my heart, and it is an honor to be a small part of their journey.

Several people wanted to see Lucky’s original video, and here it is.

Here is Waylon… now Lucky… in his original video.

I’ll be honest. It’s difficult for me to watch and listen to the voice narrating it.

The person narrating this video was once my closest friend. Someone I trusted completely. Someone I trusted with my mission, my dogs, and the organization I poured my heart and soul into building.

When Lucky resurfaced all these years later, it brought back more than memories. It brought back a painful reminder of how much was lost.

What makes this especially frustrating is that situations like this are exactly why records matter. They matter to the dogs. They matter to me. And they matter to the adopters. They matter when a lost dog suddenly appears years later in a shelter and we are trying to piece together who he is and where he belongs.

Records are a safety net. They help reunite lost dogs with families. They preserve medical histories. They help connect adopters with the animals they once loved.

While people will continue to disappoint us and make clear their motives and priorities surrounding these records, I’m going to focus on Lucky today.

Because while people may disappoint us, dogs never do.

The love you share with me for these dogs was evident every step of the way. Lucky’s story reminded me of that.

These dogs are more than dogs to me, and they always will be. I love them deeply, and I will continue fighting for them until my last breath.

Lucky’s next chapter starts now.

And that’s where my focus belongs.

Lions,

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the incredible detective work you did on this one.

While we didn’t get the media coverage we were hoping for, I think in the end that may have been a blessing.

As tips began coming in and more information surfaced, my focus shifted. At first, I was determined to find out whether there was an owner somewhere desperately searching for Lucky. But after exhausting every avenue available to us and learning more about his recent history, my greatest concern became making sure Lucky’s future is safe, stable, and filled with love.

Together, we solved the mystery anyway.

You dug through old videos, old photos, old records, and somehow managed to identify Lucky. His name was Waylon when he was with me the first time, and watching his original video brought back a flood of memories. He was every bit as sweet then as he is today.

The love that you share with me for these dogs was evident in every person who helped try to find out who Lucky belonged to. You searched old videos, followed leads, shared posts, and refused to give up on him.

These dogs are more than dogs to me, and they always will be. They are lives entrusted to our care. They are memories, stories, heartbreaks, victories, and second chances. I love them deeply and will continue fighting for them until my last breath.

Because of your efforts, we were able to exhaust every avenue possible to determine whether someone was looking for Lucky. We followed every lead we could find and left no stone unturned.

Now it’s time for Lucky’s next chapter.

Thank you for every message, every tip, every shared post, every late-night search, and every rabbit hole you went down trying to help this sweet boy. You proved once again that when Lions come together, amazing things happen.

You guys are pretty dang awesome.

The mystery of Lucky may finally be solved.

Over the past several weeks, we have exhausted every avenue imaginable to locate an owner. Every lost dog page, shelter, veterinary clinic, and recovery service we could identify was contacted. Lucky completed his stray hold through the shelter system and was then released into foster care with one of our former adopters while we continued searching.

Since then, we have received multiple tips that appear to point to a person in the Sheboygan area who may have had Lucky for the past two years.

What concerns me is that we have found no evidence that anyone has been actively searching for him. There have been no missing dog posts, no reports with local shelters, no reports with veterinary clinics, and no activity on the lost dog networks we contacted. We also discovered that Lucky has appeared on found dog postings before.😭

At this point, my focus shifts from searching to protecting.

Lucky has been safely cared for, has completed the legal shelter process, and deserves stability, safety, and a family committed to his well-being. Unless credible evidence emerges that changes the situation, which I doubt….we will be moving forward with finding Lucky a responsible forever home.

For those who have shared his story, sent tips, and helped us investigate every possibility, thank you.

We wanted to be absolutely certain that we had done everything possible before making this decision.

Now it’s time for Mama Bear mode.

Lucky’s future comes first.

911 ACTION NEEDED!

Lions, I need a roar the size of Texas on this one.

Before we officially put Lucky up for adoption, I am desperately trying to find out if there is an owner somewhere out there still looking for him.

He is simply too good of a dog for me to believe he was intentionally abandoned, and I want to exhaust every possible avenue before moving forward with adoption.

I have no idea how this dog ended up all the way in Wisconsin. For all we know, he may not even be from there. Somebody, somewhere, may be missing him.

Please copy and paste the email below along with Lucky’s pictures and send it to these news stations. Let’s give this one final Lion’s roar and try everything we can to help Lucky find his way home before we officially place him up for adoption.

Thank you all for caring so deeply about these dogs.

CUT AND PASTE:

SUBJECT: PLEASE HELP GET LUCKY’S STORY TO THE NEWS.

Many of us are sickened watching this happen again and again, and we agonize with Tracy every time one of these dogs surfaces in a shelter somewhere in America with no way to trace their history.

A dog named Lucky ended up in a Sheboygan, Wisconsin shelter with an unregistered microchip tied back to Tracy’s former rescue organization in Texas. Tracy has NO access to any of the rescue records dating back before 2019 because they were never returned to her.

The only reason Lucky was identified at all is because someone at the Sheboygan shelter cared enough to go above and beyond and keep digging.

Lucky is now safe with a former adopter in Wisconsin, but nobody has come forward for him, and we refuse to believe this sweet dog was simply dumped and forgotten.

Please help us get media attention on this story so we can try to identify who Lucky belongs to and expose the larger issue involving lost rescue records and unregistered microchips.
