We owe every win, every ribbon, and every unforgettable weekend to them. They carry us through the nerves, the early mornings, the long days, and all the hard work that happens behind the scenes.

At the end of the day, they’re not just our teammates — they’re the reason we get to do what we love. 💙

Happy National Dessert Day! 🍫🧁

It’s only right that we give a HUGE shout-out to Holly for always keeping the Swamp Donkeys supplied with all our sugar needs! 😂💙 From keeping us happy and jolly during practices to sending us off to competitions with a sweet treat to start the weekend, she never lets us down!

Our latest sweet surprise was these AMAZING brownies, and let’s just say they didn’t last long! 🤎

Drill riding isn’t just about riding to the music. 🎶

It’s about constantly looking, checking your spacing, and making sure you’re aligned with the riders around you — whether you’re in a pair, riding close together, or all the way across the arena.

Your head should always be on a swivel, watching, rating, and making those little adjustments to stay on point.

Because in drill, you’re not just riding your horse — you’re riding as a team. 🫏💙

Today, the Swamp Donkeys went on a fun adventure to support a local nonprofit, the South Florida SPCA Horse Rescue! 🐴💙

We had an absolute blast hanging out, having fun, and making memories together as a team. Some Donkeys may have learned that they should probably stick to riding horses, while others had their alignment completely on point! 😂

And somehow, after all the fun, the Donkeys ended up taking home High Point! 🏆

A huge thank-you to the SPCA for hosting such a fun event and giving us a great excuse to spend the day together supporting an amazing organization. We had the best time! 💙🐴

After our 9-to-5, we get together for practice — because apparently Dolly wasn’t talking about drill when she wrote that song! 😂

A little pink, a little sparkle, a whole lot of horsepower — sounds pretty Dolly to us! 💗

We are SO excited to share some more amazing news! 🏆💙

Four of our youth riders participated in the GEM virtual Quad competition, competing against three other teams from three different states across the US — and they got 1st place! 🥇

We are so incredibly proud of these four riders and all the hard work, practice, and dedication they continue to put into drill. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. Congratulations, girls! 🫏💙

A huge thank-you to Heidi Hampton Young for hosting these amazing virtual competitions and giving teams another opportunity to ride and compete together, even when we can’t all be in the same arena.💙

Now we just need the weather to cooperate so we can get back on horseback and keep preparing for our next competition! 🐴

Our last competition in Ocala, Florida, fell on the weekend of September 11th. 🇺🇸

While this was not a competition where we were required to dress up for our classes, we still wanted to add a small touch of remembrance. Our riders wore bandannas during competition to honor and remember the lives lost on 9/11, as well as the heroes, first responders, and everyone whose lives were forever changed that day.

It was a simple gesture, but an important reminder that we will always remember. ❤️🇺🇸

Throwback Thursday! 🥑🫏

When life gives you avocados, you share them with your drill team family! 💚

We decided to put together little guacamole baskets for each of the teams we compete against at SSMDTA shows — and of course, we couldn’t forget about the amazing horses who make it all possible!

From the feedback we received, it’s safe to say everyone was able to enjoy a delicious (and hopefully healthy 😉) snack throughout the competition weekend.

Nothing better than a little friendly competition and a whole lot of drill family love! 🥑🫏🩵

Happy National Cowgirl Day! 🩵

Today we’re celebrating the girls who aren’t afraid to get a little dirty, work hard, saddle up, and chase their dreams one ride at a time.

These girls are more than just riders — they’re teammates, horsewomen, competitors, and cowgirls who are making memories they’ll carry with them for years to come.

So here’s to our Swamp Donkey cowgirls and all the young women out there who keep showing up, putting in the work, and loving every minute of the ride. 💙
