Devi is between five and six years old. She may have once belonged to someone, because she is a sweet and affectionate cat, the kind who still carries the memory of a home.
When she was found, Devi was living with a cat colony in the parking lot of a Chase Bank in Homestead, surviving like so many abandoned cats: one meal a day, cars, people, raccoons, and the uncertainty of street life.
Then her feeder posted her photo, and three and a half hours away, a beautiful soul saw her and decided Devi deserved more than survival. She deserved a home.
Devi allowed herself to be picked up, as if somehow she knew this “kidnapping” was really a rescue. Life indoors was new to her, but she slowly began to understand the comfort of safe meals, a warm place, and gentle care.
Her first vet visit showed she was healthy, making her adoption possible. But the trip to her new home was hard, and when she stopped eating, her new mom took her to the vet again. They found a liver issue, thankfully treatable with medicine, patience, and love.
Her mom never gave up. She cared for Devi with devotion, and today Devi is no longer the cat from the parking lot. She is the beloved little girl of the house, safe, protected, and sharing her new life with her tuxedo brother.
From colony cat to cherished family member — Devi is finally home. 🖤🤍
