Lucky Paws Pet Spa LLC

Hello and Farewell Homer! With my family relocating to the Anchorage area, Lucky Paws Pet Spa officially closed its doors on May 15. I had hoped to transition the business to a new owner; however, since our landlord opted not to renew our lease and suitable commercial spaces are unavailable in Homer, I was unable to secure a buyer to continue our services locally.

Thank you for your incredible support and for trusting Lucky Paws with your pups. We loved every minute of our fun Doggy Daycare Days and all the furry cuddles on Spa Days. What I will miss most of all are the friendships I built with you while helping your dogs look and feel their best.

Wishing you and your pups a lifetime of belly rubs and happy tails,
— Monica 🐾🐶🫧

Quick reminder: As my family and I are in the middle of relocating to Anchorage, Lucky Paws Pet Spa will officially close on May 15. All appointments after that date are canceled. I'm so grateful for your support—it's been a joy caring for Homer's pups! During this transition, I'm working to provide other groomers in town with resources to keep our Homer pups serviced and will continue to keep you posted. Thank you again for trusting Lucky Paws Pet Spa with your pups. 🐾🐶🫧

A Paw-sitive Update from Lucky Paws Pet Spa 🐾🐶🫧
After two amazing years, we have some bittersweet news: my family is moving near Anchorage, and Lucky Paws will be closing sometime in May. Due to lease changes and a lack of available space in town, we are unable to relocate or transfer the shop to a new owner. If a qualified buyer with an established location steps in, we'll let you know. Otherwise, shop equipment and assets will be posted for sale soon. Our final date is still to be determined, but please know that any appointments scheduled beyond that date will be contacted regarding cancellation. Thank you for being part of our journey! Please give your pups an extra belly rub from all of us. 💞🐶💓

Have your heard? The skies are coming alive with the sounds of our local dinosaurs…

Sandhill cranes arrive in Alaska each spring—typically mid-April through early May—and many nest right here in our community.

That means eggs and babies may be hidden in places you’d never expect.

Even a curious, friendly dog can accidentally:
❗ chase a parent off the nest
❗ disturb eggs or chicks
❗ cause a nest to be abandoned

For your pet’s safety and our local wildlife:
✔️ Keep dogs on leash
✔️ Stay aware of nesting areas
✔️ Give cranes plenty of space

A little awareness goes a long way in protecting the wildlife that makes Homer so special 💛🐾

Spring = parasite season 👀🐾

As the snow melts, we start seeing more intestinal parasites. Even if your pet doesn’t leave your yard, the town bunnies are usually not far!

If your pet is current on their yearly exam, we recommend a f***l test and parasite prevention, both available upon request.
If not, give us a call to get scheduled and discuss deworming/prevention options! 💛🐾

🤍Free wellness care for local pets🤍

To honor Missy’s memory, we want to help other pets in our community. 🤍

She was the sweetest, gentlest soul, and she was loved by everyone who met her. She was a special part of our clinic and Dr. Gardenfors’ journey in veterinary medicine.

We’re renaming our clinic’s Compassion Fund to Missy’s Legacy Fund—a fund that helps local pets get the care they need when their families need a helping hand.

To support the fund, we’ll be hosting a Pet Wellness Fundraiser:

🗓 March 13

⏰ 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM

🚪 Walk ins, First come, first served

Free wellness services will be offered, with donations welcome (any amount helps).

Thank you for helping us carry Missy’s love forward in our community. 🤍
