Pastel color dyes with Hudson! He ‘s a perfect dog to do this on since he sits/stands still for the most part and is so chill.
He came in today and mom wanted a Mohawk down the back as well as on head, neck keeping it a short trim. This is an owner that allows to have some fun in their style. Later in the groom I offered some color to the coat and she said she was going to do it anyway. Sure, Go Ahead!
Color became pastels and didn’t take as well only tells me buy the new and improved good stuff for vibrant color and exact colors you want. I dyed purple and lime green and we got pink and yellow. 😂🤔The line was as bright as the netted bow! 😳🤷‍♀️
This was a good “get your feet wet” in coloring again. So much practice in the way you do it to avoid color transfer in hairs you don’t want it. Better to do it with pastels than vibrant colors for getting this down. Only thing is tutorials on you tube I saw only showed how to prep you dog for a tail, not the middle of the dog and top of head.
Hmmm. Here’s the mess up.
I’ll do research and order the good stuff and get more prep knowledge.
Thank you Lindsey for being game for this! 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️😊
Better next time.

Latest groom on improving skills in this Kerry Blue Terrier. My first fuller haired Kerry to groom. This former show dog gets a modified show cut for lap of luxury pet-life. No I didn’t forget to groom the face. This breed has a “fall” of hair over the face instead of chiseled brows. And Yes they can see believe it or not! 😂
