Cutest Toy Poodle Puppy! Chris is a active, loving and playful 4 months old. He looks so serious waiting for the treat in my hand. 😂 It was his first Full Groom today.
He did really well… with plenty of treats and patience I was able clip, scissor, all the parts of the body going slow and taking the time to get him accustomed to everything. It’s not perfect but it’s completed and we can build on that during the future grooms.
After two initial visits for bath dry light sc******ng and light clipping and handling, He did it!
He’s still unconvinced on ear hair plucking but that’s ok we can work on that gradually so we don’t scare the lil’ guy.

When you got a friend…
…that shows dogs and has a breed you’d like to trim as pet dog or show and maybe compete with you are Lucky.
She’s thrown me into handling classes, learning to groom her Kerry Blue Terrier’s, and now put me into the Arkansas Dog Show this last weekend April 18-19, 2026 with 11 month old Mattie. We did our mess-ups the first day like wearing my number upside down ( #6) and doing the wrong thing the judge asked. The second day we both did great not missing a step.
Mattie was showing for the first time too and we won her class Best Female (Winners’ Bitch) and got 3 point Major to her first scoring to reach a total of 15.
It’s a learning curve. It was educating, surprising and fun.

FirstTime at any groom salon ever! Farmhouse Dogs was happy to work with this baby doing his Bath, face feet F***y, and puppy groom for this 4 month old poodle puppy, Chris. I brought in a poodle buddy that he’d like, her name is Nettie. At 10 months she acted as puppy ambassador to show him what it’s like to get groomed, bathed, dried, brushed, combed, detangled, puppy trimmed and scissored, and of course, where the treats are, and playtime. I think they are both pooped out tonight. ❤️

Playing with a Rare Terrier Breed…❤️
Thank you Jinece for allowing me to come up and help bathe, dry, and work with the Kerry Blue Terrier coats on three of your Kerry’s today. This little 10 month old puppy girl got her bath, brush and a good comb out today, prepping for a bright show and breeding future. This hair over the face is called a Fall. It’s wild looking in this picture but it can look more tamed down than this. I’ll post a random googled pic of a head and full body pic what this little girl will look like eventually. It is fully scissored other than the required shave parts!
This is part of the breed standard and trim. You can get varying coat color patterns of grey and black which they call “blue” and range of textures. This Terrier is a rather small breed 17-19 inches tall and 35-40 lbs.
Jinece, you are a wealth of information about breeding, showing, and handling your beloved breed. You are so kind. Congrats on having the best female in the country and about to make historic wins for the breed!

This little Papillion girl started out pretty miffed about the idea of grooming but left a happy camper! 🥰
With a bath deshed and dematt, I went slowly to thin out the matted hair. She’s very tender headed and ready to react.
So, it was the way to go for her. She also needed to learn to trust me on the feet work. I showed her light pressure holds and short simple trimming sections shifting to the other feet. She needed to see everytime I touch her foot “wasn’t bad at all”. We dremeled the nails and didn’t mind at all. By that time she gave me a try and it worked for her. Mom was thrilled. I’m glad I could talk this little Papillion into grooming. Maybe this isn’t so bad after all. ❤️She pranced around so proud of herself! I sent the text to mom, “(Cinder)-Ella is ready for the Ball…She Lived.” She’s a doll.

🐾Concerning Spring Shaves🐾
Here’s a variation of trims of
same dog-same day.
Here’s Molly an American Eskimo. Her owner now suffers from allergies from her coat. This is her breed of many years. I’ve been her groomer for four or five of them. So now?
We keep up even more often on desheds, baths, and trims.
Here’s summers’ style.
These are two ways you can do certain dog breeds with this hair type.
If the hair is in good shape but you want it cooler for the dog but still like the traditional look of the head and neck and tail this is a nice alternative. The Lion Trim. The shortened length is a aliitle more than a half inch.

Here’s a regular nose to tail shave talking all of it shorter same length as above, it’s good condition of coat also.
If it’s matted too thick with undercoat and your pet handles the traditional way best, do that!
Summer lengths are great too you know the Midwest we can hop to summer temps in spring just like tomorrow. 90’s
Either way they are cooler and happier. 🌷Hope you like.🌷🐾

These one year old Scottish Terrier brothers came in today for a first time groom. They will be up for adoption through St. Louis Scottish Terrier Rescue. They were very good and also very sweet! No pi***ng matches or over zealous behavior at all. Well-mannered loving dogs. Good Boys!

🍀Happy St Patricks Day🍀
Today, I groomed Miss Maggie, a Standard poodle-Aussie mix. She was a bit matted but she turned out beautifully for a Spring time groom length. This girl loves her toys and other dogs. She will be a part of our Friday puppy play day starting this week. Have a good and blessed day.
