I oftentimes hear stories from visitors about guinea pigs they had as children, who lived in small tanks on wood chips without hay, never saw a vet… etc.

A lot of times, people are remorseful of the way their childhood guinea pigs were cared for. But I say, we only know what we know.

There is information readily available at our fingertips that we didn’t have decades ago. And when we know better, we can do better.

Try not to beat yourself up about how your animals were kept when you and your parents didn’t know any better.

What’s important is that you learned and made the necessary changes!
