While we were really bummed not to have Betty Babies this spring like we'd hoped, it allowed her to earn her Grand Champion title this summer, which is pretty great. She earned her wins quickly and in style, winning 3 of her Major Wins under Bulldog Breeder/Judges, which is always a special honor. Now everyone cross their fingers and paws for babies this fall!

They break down a surprising rule of thumb: a soft, quiet cough is often the most dangerous because it indicates deep airway issues like pneumonia, heart problems, or lung tumors. I was going to take a picture for my favorite rug lady so she could see my newest purchase in its new home…meanwhile I was too lazy to clean my daughter’s “fairy garden” redecorating and my dog thought he was the intended focus so 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m fairly certain most people thought I was crazy when I started adding handmade vintage wool rugs in our home with the dogs. Some well-meaning people tried to suggest I try washable rugs (I have and overall I’ve hated them). Meanwhile, I have not once regretted my beautiful handmade rugs and keep adding more. They are a dream to vacuum and clean (unlike the “washable” rugs which have mostly been a nightmare), and they’re easy to freshen up, they actually come clean, and I’ve had no problem cleaning up spills and puke. Actually Betty christened my newest one hours after I laid it out after she drank a bunch of water and promptly threw it and the grass and dandelions she’d just been eating outside. Don’t come to my page for cutesy posts, but if you want my real talk dog vomit posts, I’ve got you! 🤣🤣🤣

If you’re interested in learning more about our wonderful breed by reputable breeders, consider attending our National show! It’s a big one, it lasts a whole week, with different stuff going on each day. Attend for a day, a couple hours, or the whole thing! It’s a great place to meet breeders, learn about the breed, and have fun watching lovely, healthy dogs!

This October our bulldog family will come together in East Peoria, Illinois for our annual National Show. This tradition brings us all back to what we love most about this incredible breed and the people who share that passion. Behind the scenes, so much care is going into making this week truly special, from events and gatherings to vendors and celebrations. We would love nothing more than to share it with you. 🐾

When you picture dog shows, do you imagine Westminster at Madison Square Garden with the fancy carpet and all the glitz and glamour? The reality is that most dog shows are not that fancy! A lot of them are at county fairgrounds, in hockey arenas during the off-season, or outdoor parks. Today I showed inside in a metal pole building while it poured rain outside, and later in the day I showed outside in the sun with storm clouds in sight! I watched friends show while it rained pretty steadily, everyone in rain coats and rubber boots (as long as they remembered to pack them!). Often not fancy, frequently messy, but certainly never dull!
