I’ve been slacking on my posting lately. Still super busy, keeping my head down and pumping out as much work as I can.

Good luck to everyone going out on the greatest opening day ever, Turkey season!

Unfortunately, I am NOT taking any full body turkeys this year. This is mainly due to a huge delay with the freeze dryer that I use, they still have my heads from the 24 and 25 season. So I would prefer to not have three seasons of turkeys on the books.

I will not be available this weekend due to travel ball and my other job. I may consider a few fans and breast mounts, so please give me a call and let me know what you got.

Thank you all for understanding.

Tough weekend in Virginia at their taxidermy association. I knew before I left that this competition would be hard, due to the amount of deer that were guaranteed to show up. Didn’t come home with the gold and that’s ok, wasn’t expecting to as this was my first custom made open mouth cast. I got a VERY thorough critique from the whitetail judge, as well as the waterfowl judge too and thats the most important part. So red ribbons this year for my pieces. However, I did get blues (scores between 90-100) for my habitat/displays. Till next time, back to work and back to the drawing board as usual.

Thank you again to those who allow me to use their pieces for entries, this is one way we as taxidermist can continue to improve our work.

I generally don’t post them up with pins and tape but I just wanted to reassure you all that, I didn’t go to Texas for nothing. What a stud 😮‍💨

Good morning,

I am currently accepting new customers for waterfowl. As stated previously, I am reducing my normal intake this year so that I dont become overwhelmed, which causes an extensive turnaround time. So that means, you all might want to get on the birds as quick as possible before I close up. I will always save spots for current customers, so no need to worry.

I have a few openings this week for drop offs (Tuesday-Thursday). So please FB message or txt me so that I can organize everyone in the order that I am contacted.

A few tips to help you all out in the field:

1: if your bird takes a shot in the bill, it’s ok. I don’t need the original head.

2: if your bird has blood on it, that’s ok too. Try and keep your bird as dry as possible. Do NOT rinse him off as he will become water logged and create a difficult mounting process for me.

3: do NOT put your bird in pantyhose, I don’t care what your pop-pop use to do, don’t do it lol. Double/triple grocery bagged or Gallon ziplock freezer bag w/ head tucked is just fine, we want to create layers.

4: I know it looks cool and it’s a “flex for the gram”, but please, please, please do not hang your mount worthy duck by the neck on a lanyard.

5: if you get a bird and would like to bring it to me that day (as long as I’m available) keep him cold in a fridge or cooler (dry). I prefer to inspect birds that are not frozen but I understand if they have to be frozen in some cases.

Thank you all and good luck on the rest of your season!
