Waterfalls & Happy Dogs 💚 What a beautiful Memorial Day weekend spent hiking with dogs, exploring waterfalls, and soaking up time in the mountains. 🏔️🐾❤️

Weekends like this are always a reminder of how important it is to slow down, reconnect with nature, and give back to yourself too.

Happy dogs, fresh mountain air, and feeding the inner soul a little along the way.

String cheese. Absolute game changer. 😂🧀🐾

When I need dogs to settle, check in, and pay attention on the trail, high-value rewards make all the difference.

Not every hike is about nonstop movement — sometimes it’s about practicing calm, engagement, and learning how to exist together in exciting environments.

Huge thank you to Alexandra Bassett at Dog Savvy SLC for turning me onto the magic of string cheese on hikes. 💚 Safe to say this group was very motivated.

Building Trust with Stella 🐾 Yesterday’s hike with Stella was such a good reminder of how quickly dogs can learn when given patience, consistency, and the right guidance. 🐾

We spent time working on recall throughout the hike, and by the end she was confidently off leash and checking back in beautifully. Watching that kind of trust and progress build is one of my favorite parts of what I do.

A tired dog is wonderful… but a mentally engaged dog is even better. ❤️

“Morning reflection ☀️
When life feels stressful, remember that our beautiful companions feel our energy too. The greatest gift we can offer them and ourselves is calm, love, friendship, and moments of stillness. In caring for others, don’t forget to give back to yourself as well. 🤍🐾”

“Stopped by in Holladay this morning before heading to Park City to do a little marketing for Calm Canines and bring pastries to some local pet businesses. ☕️🐾
Also stopped by to say hello and drop off some goodies. Grateful to continue building relationships within such a supportive dog community.
And seriously… the pastries from French Bakehouse are incredible. You will not be disappointed.”

Really excited to continue connecting with trainers and behavior-focused professionals here in Utah. 🐾

One thing I deeply value is collaboration, especially when working with anxious, fearful, sensitive, or behaviorally complex dogs. Consistency matters, and dogs do best when everyone is working together.

A big thank you to Alexandra Bassett at Dog Savvy SLC for being open to sharing Calm Canines with her community. I truly appreciate the support. 💚

After a full week caring for client dogs, today was about recharging with Jackson Brown and his girlfriend Katara. 💚

There’s something grounding about getting outside, slowing down, and spending time on the trail with dogs that know you best.

As much as I love caring for others’ dogs, it’s also important to give back to yourself, reset your nervous system, and refill your own cup too.

Today’s prescription: mountain air, moving water, and happy dogs. 🏔️🐾

Last day with Dutch & Hank 🐾

Dutch, the senior gentleman, loved keeping watch out the window and announcing every visitor 😂 while young Hank kept life exciting by chasing pine cones and turning every toy into a game.

They were both incredibly sweet in their own ways, and I truly enjoyed my time with them.

Very grateful for clients who trust me with both their puppy and senior dogs 💛
And thank you to Mo at The Canine Life Coach for the referral!

Caring for a puppy and a senior dog at the same time is always a balance… and these two have been such a sweet reminder of that 💛

Hank (6 months) is full of energy, curiosity, and play…
while Dutch (14 years young) prefers a slower pace, quiet moments, and keeping an eye on the world from the window.

It’s not about treating them the same
it’s about meeting each dog exactly where they are.

✔️ Structured walks for both energy levels
✔️ Play time for Hank
✔️ Calm, comfortable space for Dutch
✔️ And making sure neither one gets overwhelmed

This is where experience really matters, especially when personalities and needs are so different.

They’ve both been such a joy to care for 🐾
