At just 2 years old, Persia came to us from New York after surviving a hoarding situation with over 30 animals. She didn’t know what safety felt like. She didn’t know what it meant to trust. Because she was older and unsocialized, she was placed on the at-risk list, overlooked before she ever really had a chance.
But we saw her.
We told ourselves we had time, and Persia showed us just how much time healing can take. She was with us for a full year. One year of patience. One year of waiting. One year of showing up for her, even when progress felt invisible.
For three long months, she stayed hidden. No glimpses, no progress, just a scared little soul trying to make sense of a new world. When she finally began to show herself, it felt like a quiet miracle. Even then, it took another two months before she allowed gentle approaches, before she could accept a treat, before the walls she built started to soften.
Every small step felt enormous. Every moment of trust felt earned.
And now, through happy tears, we get to share the ending we dreamed of for her.
Persia has been adopted sight unseen and has found her forever home with her new dad, Elijah. He is ready to take her on the journey to becoming the confident cat we all know she can be.
From New York to Massachusetts, and now on to New Hampshire, Persia is finally on her way to forever.
The once invisible cat, the one who hid from the world, is now seen, loved, and safe, exactly where she was always meant to be.
This is why we wait. This is why we believe. This is why we never give up.
