💙A reminder for everyone in veterinary medicine💙

People who work in the veterinary profession are up to 5 times more likely to die by su***de than the general public.

Why?

• High stress load
• Heavy financial and educational burden
• Abuse and difficult interactions from clients
• Regular exposure to deeply emotional situations, including euthanasia
• Having to regularly make life-or-death decisions

The veterinary profession is one we love deeply — but loving what we do doesn’t mean it isn’t hard.

It is okay to admit that this profession is difficult.
It is okay to have a bad day.
It is okay to feel overwhelmed.
And it is absolutely okay to ask for help.

You are never alone. Your life matters. Your presence matters. Your patients need you, your coworkers need you, your family needs you, and this world is a much better place with you in it. ❤️

Please check in on your veterinary friends, coworkers, technicians, assistants, doctors, receptionists, and anyone else who may be struggling. Sometimes simply asking “Are you okay?” can make a difference.

We need you here. 🐾❤️
