A Critical Update on Our Massive Horse Slaughter Pipeline Investigation: The Fight Continues
We are reaching out today with a vital and candid update regarding the large-scale, ongoing investigation into the horrific horse slaughter pipeline, a corrupt network we are relentlessly fighting to dismantle. This is a difficult moment, but our commitment to the horses and to ending this criminal enterprise remains unbreakable. We are dedicated to fighting until the end, because the reality of the horse slaughter pipeline, and the criminal activity it enables, must be stopped.
Our commitment to ending horse slaughter is decades old, with investigations beginning in California in the early 2000s. Since then, our efforts have deepened, involving a growing network of informants and investigators across the Americas. Today, we must be transparent with our followers and supporters about a critical development: one of our contracted investigators has gone rogue. In 2024, when we intercepted an entire semi-truck load of horses, the driver, profoundly affected by what he witnessed within the horse slaughter pipeline, approached us seeking a way to bring an end to the atrocities being committed against these horses and asked if someone documented the situation if it could be exposed. This led us, the following spring, to contract investigative work to gather crucial information from within the pipeline itself with this individual.
We are profoundly grateful for the information collected and turned over to us by this contracted individual between 2025 and May 2026. This contracted work, which involved equipping the individual with the use of undercover cameras, trucks and trailers for undercover operations, was instrumental in raising awareness. The individual along with our other investigators brought to light a host of criminal activities, including illegal practices within auctions, human smuggling, the use of horses and other animals to move drugs, and horrendous animal abuse. This information was turned over to the USDA, FBI, and other federal agencies in our continuous effort to expose the reality of the horse slaughter pipeline.
Horse Plus Humane Society actively engages in investigations. We do not contract with, or utilize, informants or investigators who are not actively providing us with crucial intelligence against kill buyers and other players within the horse slaughter pipeline. Our investigative efforts are directly aimed at exposing the horrific reality of what is truly happening within the horse slaughter pipeline.
The contractual relationship with one investigator has now come to a close. While we commend the contractor for his work of collecting information within the horse slaughter pipeline, it is regrettably difficult to reach mutual agreements when parting ways. The relationship became unhealthy when the contractor’s demands could not be met. Even after multiple offers were extended to continue working, it was clearly time to separate.
We must address claims the former contractor is now making online to smear our organization and compromise our mission. We unequivocally deny the false claim that we had a gun pulled on him; this is untrue. We understand that this individual is hurt as we are no longer able to pay him for contracted work.
We anticipated the risk of infiltration from the start: that the contractor or any other informant might have been investigating us all along. However, being a transparent organization, we have nothing to hide, and this investigation was designed to succeed regardless of any single individual's loyalty.
Our investigation is not only continuing but going even deeper into the horse slaughter pipeline. We are fully committed to ending horse slaughter, recognizing that the pipeline is being used as a massive criminal network for moving drugs, horses, and smuggling humans. The horses are not the true moneymaker behind this operation; the true profit is not about the horses.
And this is where the rogue contractor’s actions, however painful, have inadvertently provided a massive strategic victory. We want to emphasize that we would have preferred to keep the level of our investigation and its successful infiltration of the slaughter pipeline private. However, with this individual choosing to go rogue and make statements publicly, we knew it was time to make this powerful statement. We are saddened that he has crossed over and is now sharing details of the investigation with the very people we were having him investigate. Yet, this turn of events has played out in a way that is profoundly beneficial to our ultimate goal: nobody will be able to trust anybody within the horse slaughter pipeline ever again.
Every player in this horrific system now faces paralyzing distrust. They will never know who is truly a spy, who is gathering information, and who is sending data to the USDA, FBI, and other agencies to finally bring this criminal enterprise to its knees. We have more investigators out there getting information.
To our undercover investigators and dedicated informants who operate in the shadows of the horse slaughter pipeline: you know who you are, and you are true heroes in this fight. We urge you to keep on investigating with the same bravery you have shown and continue sending in the vital information that will ultimately end the horse slaughter pipeline for good. Your work ensures that every player in this horrific system faces a future of paralyzing distrust, never knowing who among them is gathering information, who is smiling to their face while sending undercover videos and audio to us. We are fully dedicated to this mission, and we will continue fighting to end horse slaughter once and for all.

Fund the Fight to End the Horse Slaughter Pipeline
We are exposing the truth, the horse slaughter pipeline is not just about the barbaric end of a horse's life; it is a complex, criminal empire built on human smuggling, drug trafficking, and spreading dangerous zoonotic diseases like diphtheria. We aren't just rescuing horses, we are actively dismantling a major threat to public health and national security. In the last year alone, we have spent over $500,000 on this mission. This staggering expenditure covers our intensive investigative efforts, the emergency rescue of horses directly from the slaughter pipeline, and the critical work of documenting dangerous elements of this criminal network, including the discovery and tracking of zoonotic diseases like diphtheria and other human-to-horse transmitted illnesses. Donations are not just helpful, they are essential. Because our brave undercover investigators are on the front lines infiltrating the pipeline, we are unable to fundraise publicly for this crucial contracted work, documentation, or for the horses we rescue undercover. Your support allows us to operate in the shadows where the fight for justice is won. This is where you come in. The fight is far from over, and our investigators, the true heroes, are on the front lines, risking everything to gather the evidence that will shut this pipeline down forever. They are successfully infiltrating this network and now ensuring that every single player is paralyzed by the fear that we are watching.
We urgently need your support for the Protection Fund. Your generous donation is a direct investment in systemic change. It keeps our brave investigators embedded in the shadows, allowing us to gather the crucial intelligence the USDA, FBI, and other agencies need to finally serve justice. It fuels the undercover work necessary to expose the horrific atrocities and stop this criminal network from operating.
Help us keep the pressure on. Help us fund the investigators who are doing what has never been done before. Stand with us, and let's ensure the end of the horse slaughter pipeline is in sight.
