Big Oaks Rescue Farm is a nonprofit rescue and sanctuary for equines and farm animals in South Carolina. Our goals:
* Provide rescue and sanctuary for horses and farm animals who have been or are in danger of becoming abused or neglected. We provide them with a second chance of health, life, and to adopt them out to a loving home or provide sanctuary.
* To promote public awareness about animal care and animal welfare issues to our community.
* To promote humane treatment and prevent abuse and neglect of animals. Tax-deductible donations can be made to Big Oaks Rescue Farm at 809 Townsend Rd E, Hodges, SC 29653 We are supported through donations and volunteers and have a Guidestar Gold Seal of Transparency for 2021. Mary has been running the rescue for over 19 years now. I just want to thank her on behalf of the animals and Joe who we lost 10 years ago.
Mary has continued Hoe’s dream and mission to help the horses and other farm animals. We Miss Joe very much! And we love you Mary. You have done a wonderful job caring for the neglected and abused animals in SC.

My heart is breaking, Tuffy passed away this morning in my arms , I am so sad , we did everything for him , Moma knew something wasn't right, it was her first baby. We do everything possible and sometimes it just isn't enough. It never gets easy for me. I just love them all so much. Thanks Mary

Mary was asked to take in a donkey foal in need to the rescue today. He was just born. She named him Tuffy. He was rejected by his mother. Tuffy is being bottle fed and will need milk replacer. If you would like to help Tuffy he is on a Milk replacer /Colostrum. With some coaxing he accepted the bottle and Mary and the Volunteers will be bottle feeding him around the clock. Donations are always appreciated. Thanks, Penny
