We get it. If your pet stays mostly indoors, doesn't go to the dog park, or hasn't been around sick animals, it can be hard to understand why vaccines are still important.
The simple answer is this:
Vaccines protect your pet from diseases that can be serious, costly, and sometimes fatal—and many of these diseases are still present in our community.
🐾 Vaccines help prevent diseases before they happen.
It's much easier, safer, and less expensive to prevent a disease than it is to treat one.
Diseases like Parvo, Distemper, Rabies, and Panleukopenia can cause severe illness and may require intensive treatment—or may not be survivable at all.
🐾 Indoor pets are not immune to disease.
Many viruses and bacteria can be brought into the home on shoes, clothing, hands, equipment, or through contact with other animals. Even pets that rarely leave the house can be exposed.
🐾 You can't always predict exposure.
A lost pet, an unexpected boarding stay, a grooming appointment, a trip to the park, a wildlife encounter, or even a veterinary visit can create opportunities for exposure.

Not every pet needs every vaccine. Your veterinarian will recommend vaccines based on your pet's age, lifestyle, risk factors, and overall health.

Many of the diseases we vaccinate against used to be seen much more frequently. The reason we see them less often today is because vaccination works.
