Something new is coming to The Healthy Hound! 🐾

On September 15, we’re hosting a BRAVECTO® Quantum Leap Day from 9:00 AM–12:30 PM.

BRAVECTO Quantum is an injectable flea and tick preventive that provides 12 months of protection with one dose. We can also pair it with ProHeart 12 for year-long heartworm prevention- a great option for families who would rather not keep up with monthly preventives.

There will also be a $25 rebate on BRAVECTO Quantum that morning.

The Dogs Behind the Doors: Gunner 🐾

Next up is Gunner.

Gunner was our black Lab, and he had exactly one speed: wide open. 😂

This dog was born to be an athlete. He could run five miles with me, get home, and immediately be ready to head to the dog park and play fetch. He had an endless drive to run, chase and play- and no matter how hard I tried, he could always outrun me.

If one of the kids happened to be holding his leash when he decided it was time to go somewhere, they were coming with him. 😂

Gunner was also completely attached to Hank. He absolutely loved him. Wherever Hank was, Gunner wasn't far behind. They played together, slept together, rode together, and generally operated as a package deal.

And, being a Lab, Gunner may or may not have made a few questionable dietary decisions throughout his life. Let's just say he occasionally helped further my veterinary education. 😂

Gunner lived life hard and fast. He loved to run. He loved to play. He loved Hank. And he was always ready for whatever was next.

Some dogs are just born with a little extra gas in the tank. Gunner, in living up to his name, had the whole gas station. ❤️

And that's why there's a room at The Healthy Hound Company with his name on the door.

We’re big believers that vet visits don’t have to feel so... vet-y.

A little patience, a lot of treats, and sometimes just letting them settle in on their own terms. ❤️

Yesterday was a pretty great day. 🐾🩺

Alisa and I had the opportunity to spend the day at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine's () career fair, meeting veterinary students and sharing a little bit about who we are, why we started The Healthy Hound Company, and the vision we have for what veterinary medicine can look like.

One of my favorite parts of owning The Healthy Hound has been getting to dream about what we’re building- not just for the dogs and families we care for, but for the veterinarians and team members who may one day be part of it.

And after meeting so many incredible students yesterday, I left genuinely excited about the next generation of veterinarians. If the students we met are any indication, this profession is in very good hands for the future!

Of course, we couldn’t go all the way to Auburn representing The Healthy Hound Co. and not finish the day with dinner at The Hound. 😂 It just felt required.

Thanks for having us, Auburn! War Eagle! 🦅

Allergies are one of the most common reasons we see dogs for skin and ear problems and they don't always look the same.
