🚨 Retractable leashes might seem convenient, but they come with real risks for your dog.

They allow too much distance, encourage pulling, can snap and cause burns or serious injuries, and reduce the control you need to keep your dog safe around traffic, other animals, or sudden situations. Over time the mechanism can also fail, leaving you with even less control.

Many trainers and vets recommend against them for these reasons. For safer walks and better leash manners, choose a standard leash instead — it’s simpler, more reliable, and gives both of you a better experience. 🐕💗

NEW LEVEL 1 CLASS‼️

NEXT 8-week session with openings starts Thursday evening 10/29/26 @ 6:30pm. SIGN UP SOON- CLASSES HAVE BEEN FILLING!

For dogs 12 weeks of age or older and your dog is accustomed to being on a leash as all level 1 work is done on a 6ft leash. There has been great interest in our level 1 classes….sign up while space is still available!

Great class to learn the fundamentals of loose leash walking (heeling), no pulling, sit/down stays, recall, no jumping etc. We often times refer to this class as “good manners class” or “life skills”. A skill set that every dog and owner should have!

This class is not just for very young dogs….older dogs like to learn new skills as well!!

NO dogs for class #1, only humans please! Gayle reviews the content of the class (each client receives written class curriculum booklet with each week’s training objectives), proper types of training collars etc. (please note harnesses are NOT the recommended training tool for this class)

Mail completed registration form TO ADDRESS STATED ON REGISTRATION FORM, fee and vaccine documents prior to class start date. Excellent introductory obedience class for puppies! Best time to begin teaching your dog new skills is when they are young….don’t wait until you have undesirable behaviors to then consider obedience training! Registration for this class is through Hilton Community Education!

We had the pleasure of having 9 dogs and their handlers finish and participate in level 1 graduation tonight! Thank you all for your perseverance and the training that you have provided your dogs! Hard work pays off!🐶
