If you're new: Mouse Toy is a literal toy mouse who lives in a hamster ball who talks with buttons via Flounder rolling his ball over said buttons.

High tide is a consistent problem in FlounderLand because at high tide we have no beach and we really like the beach. Especially Mouse Toy who prefers to rest on the beach while Flounder swims (although he will still swim with her on occasion).

The topic of high tide is also one of the few subjects Mouse Toy is more passionate about than Flounder. You can feel his passion in this interaction, I'm sure. I'm glad we were able to talk about it and I was able to calm Mouse Toy down.

*I love how quickly she switches from Mouse Toy pressing "Rest" to her asking for help. I believe this is the fastest she's ever switched between her and Mouse Toy.

**I don't believe "Tube ride" is intentional. It just happens to be next to the "rest" button and the poor guy lacks accuracy because: hamster ball.

I love that Flounder assumes Fish Dad doesn't know what's going on and tries to play on that. I also love the attitude she throws at him when it doesn't work.

I'm not planning on telling her how texting works so she continues to think we have some sort of parental super powers and we know EVERYTHING!

There seems to be a lot of confusion about why Flounder and I are still alive, so we're going to discuss Hilton Head wildlife today - specifically predators.

*I do realize I missed my opportunity to say "Crikey! She's a beaut!" and I thoroughly regret that.

Ok, so if Roomba isn't going to chew on Mouse Toy (because he's safe in his ball alone), then what DOES Roomba eat?

Now we can eliminate plants from the suspect list. Looks like she might have to keep guessing.

WOW! Do I even need to socialize with humans at all anymore?!

1. Flounder had an internal thought about what the vacuum (Roomba) could do to Mouse Toy if he's down and not in his ball.

2. She decides to communicate this fear to me, but doesn't have the word "ball", so she does an amazing job helping me to understand with her buttons but when that doesn't work, the fish throws in superb body language!

3. This is also a great interaction to see what happens when she "makes a typo", which very rarely happens, but here she presses "Piano", which is near the "Mouse Toy" button, and then she pauses her train of thought to correct herself with the "oops" button and then get me back on track. Otherwise, she knows I will get stuck on how "piano" fits into the conversation.

4. The lack of "In Mouse Toy's Opinion" button - letting me know we are talking ABOUT Mouse Toy, not WITH Mouse Toy.

Brilliant! This entire interaction was absolutely brilliant! I don't think I will ever get over how incredible it is to have a conversation like this with my fish.
