Reminder for Parents:

As the colder weather settles in, we want to make sure your children stay warm and comfortable during their lessons at the ranch. Please remember to send them to lessons all bundled up! 🥶

Also, note that the ranch will no longer be supplying gloves, so be sure to send your child with a pair of warm, durable gloves for their lessons. 🧤

Cold Weather Policy:

Generally, mounted lessons will still take place when the temperature is above 25 degrees. If the temperature drops below 25 degrees, we will host indoor unmounted lessons instead of riding. As discussed during orientation, indoor lessons are not refunded. 🐴

We have 2 spots left for our Dream Catcher program (18-24 year old) that starts in January.

I’ve already received messages from some of the newly accepted ladies about how simply being accepted has impacted them and the amazing shifts that are happening in their lives.

If you are, or know, an 18 -24 year old young woman who could benefit from a supportive team of women mentors and peers to help push and guide her as she navigates the early stages of adulthood, please reach out.

There’s no out of pocket cost to them for the program, but I am going to put them to work on our fundraising team.

Why are we focusing on 18 to 24-year-olds in our new program?

I mean, SO. MANY. REASONS. But let me try to narrow them down.

🐴 It’s a critical age when we start to make BIG life decisions. Decisions that can have life-long repercussions. Things like getting married, buying homes, choosing careers, having children, and building credit (or running it into the ground, in my case at that age 🥴).

🐴 It’s not an age that we see many other programs focusing on. There’s tons of youth programs out there, but young adults kind of get forgotten. Which is crazy to me because it’s the time when I think we need the most support. (At least I did. I needed support at that age and did not have it.)

🐴 It can be a lonely age. You get out of school, whether high school or college, where you’re used to having people around all day, everyday and all of a sudden it feels like it’s just you. You enter the workforce, and yes there are people there, but you’re supposed to be “productive” so you find it hard to build relationships. Building adult relationships is challenging. Where do you even find people to be friends with?!

🐴 You start experiencing adult-level stress for the first time. Adult bills. Taxes. Insurance. Contracts. Home and car maintenance. Bosses. Adulting is freaking stressful, man.

So we’ve created a program to help ease the aches and pains of transitioning into adulthood. And we use horses to help you build the confidence you need to take adulting on with gusto. 🤷‍♀️

The Dream Catcher Program is here! 🙌🙌🙌

This program is for young women 18 to 24-years-old who reside in Jefferson County, Missouri.

We only have four spots available for this cohort, as four spots are already taken by current GaitWay girls that are aging out of the Dream Maker program.

The Dream Catcher program is 6 months long. The general program overview is in the flyer below. To apply, please email me (see flyer) and I’ll send the application over. We will be doing interviews and will be selective for the four available spots.

Feel free to send me any questions you have, I’d love to answer them. If you are considering the program and would like to schedule a tour of the ranch, I’m happy to do that as well.

GaitWay ‘s Positivity Project!

GaitWay is embarking on a month of positivity!

At GaitWay, we have a value system that we live by and instill into all the girls in our programs. Each month we are going to embody and share a different GaitWay core value with our internet friends, while simultaneously focusing on how to weave that particular value into our daily lives at the ranch.

What value are we starting with? Positivity!

Why? Because if you have a good attitude, anything is possible. It’s the foundation of growth for us. How quickly can you move from a negativity spiral to a positive outlook? How grateful are you for the people and things you already have in your life?

🦃 Thanksgiving Closure Notice 🦃

We hope everyone is as excited for Thanksgiving as we are! Just a heads-up that our ranch will be closed for riding lessons on November 28th and 29th to celebrate the holiday with our loved ones. 💕

Clients scheduled for those days will receive refunds back to their card on file during the week of November 25th. Thank you for your understanding, and we wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving full of family, friends, and lots of pie! 🥧

That’s a wrap for our first Dream Chaser camp!

The next one starts next Tuesday, Sept 12.

This camp was not only fun, but also helped the girls build relationships with their peers AND the horses. It helped them with self-esteem and a positive mindset. It helped them with communication and courage.

If you have a teen that’s interested in horses, this camp is the place for her.

We won’t be holding another 13-17 camp for a few months after this one as we are going to give our younger Dream Chasers some camp time starting mid-January. (Keep your eyes peeled for the 9-12 year-old camp info coming soon! It’ll be a great Christmas gift for your girlies.)
