That look of satisfaction when you’re an old dog that has learned a bunch of new tricks, changed homes three times, suffered loss and heartache, has traveled and seen more of the world than most house pets ever get to, and just spent hours proving how far he has come at a National Horse Show. Proof that dedicated owners can change the world of a soul who isn’t done yet. ❤️

Training doesn’t always involve movement. Sometimes the most important part of training is teaching your dog how to be still, calm, comfortable in their own skin and presence.
Teaching dogs to go to their place helps them learn this self regulation behavior.
Other uses of the command:
🚪 Door safety, not running outside while greeting guests/ answering the door.
🍔 Food respect, giving them a behavior to focus on while enjoying dinner with the family, no sneaking snacks. 🤭
🛋️ Down time, sometimes sensory overload can set in and you don’t want to interact. Sending your pet to their bed while you decompress keeps them with you and out of the crate while you take some personal time.
