As many of you now know, my wife, Linda, was unexpectedly diagnosed with advanced liver cancer last fall. In the months following, it became increasingly difficult to balance her treatment plan, quality time together and quality care for our boarders. Therefore, we decided to temporarily close Buckeye Boarding after the 2021 Christmas holiday.
Linda and I have missed interacting with our boarders but we’ve also cherished the extra time together and flexibility these past weeks spending time with family and friends. Her treatments have helped reduce some of the tumors and improved her quality of life. For that, we are truly thankful. We are hopeful that we’ll see even more progress in the coming weeks.
That said, it has become clear that it might be the time to consider passing the torch and begin searching for someone new to take the helm of Buckeye Boarding. It is an extremely difficult step to consider given the number of years we’ve come to know many of you and your pets. You have become like extended family!! It has been an honor. Please remember us in the coming weeks as we begin the process of searching for a new owner. Pray for wisdom.
And for those who’d like to stay in touch, you’re welcome to reach out to me on messenger, by phone, or by email at [email protected]. As we move into this transition phase, I will continue to update our business phone message and website with changes as they occur. Thank you for your encouragement and understanding.
