🐾 Spud and I have been working hard on brushing up his skills in some new and busier areas around town, and I’m pretty proud of how he’s doing!

Here you can see him showing off a really nice down-stay, followed by a down-wait-come. We’ve also been practicing some off-leash skills in appropriate areas where he’s allowed to be off leash, along with leash manners and settling skills.

One of the biggest goals with training isn’t just having a dog who can perform a skill at home—it’s teaching them how to take those skills on the road and use them around new people, places, distractions, and environments. That’s exactly what we’ve been working on with Spud!

And don’t forget to check out our Drop-In Classes happening throughout September and into the rest of the fall! We’ll be covering many of the same skills Spud is showing off here, giving you and your pup opportunities to practice and build confidence in a supportive environment.

Our next class is Sunday, September 13th, and we’re tackling the art of SETTLING! 🧘‍♀️🐶

We’ll work on teaching you and your pup how to settle, relax, and focus—even when you’re somewhere new or more challenging. These are incredibly useful skills for everyday life, whether you want your dog to relax at a brewery, outdoor event, busy park, friend’s house, or simply hang out calmly while you’re doing something else.

🐾 We’re expanding! 🐾

We are so excited to announce that we are partnering with Meredith Parks and Recreation to bring the same amazing group obedience classes we offer at the Tapply-Thompson Community Center in Bristol to the Meredith community! 🎉

Our first round of Level 1 Puppy and Level 1 Adult classes will be starting in November, and registration is officially OPEN! 🐶

Spots are limited, so we highly recommend registering early to reserve your spot. Whether you have a new puppy ready to learn the basics or an adult dog who could use a little extra training, we’d love to have you join us!

We can’t wait to meet all of our new Meredith students and their pups! ❤️🐾

🐾 What a wonderful start to our week! 🍂

I think I can speak for both myself AND the dogs when I say we have been absolutely loving these little sneak peeks of fall weather coming our way! Cooler temperatures, comfortable walks, and happy pups make for a pretty great combination. 🐶❤️

There’s just something extra special about getting outside with the pups when the air is cool and crisp! Who else is ready for fall? 🍂

🐾 We had such a great time at Bristol Old Homes Day! 🐾

We got off to such a busy start that I didn’t even have time to make a post this morning! 😂

It was such a wonderful day filled with meeting so many amazing people and, of course, lots of adorable pets! 🐶🐱

Between walks, drop-ins, and training sessions, I’ve had the absolute pleasure of spending time with SO many amazing critters this week!

Every day looks a little different, and I’m so grateful that my job means getting to spend my time caring for, working with, and getting to know so many wonderful animals. From energetic pups out on their walks to training sessions full of progress, and of course plenty of kitty visits mixed in—I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Look at all these happy faces I got to see today! 🐾❤️ What a great way to kick off the week!

Wren, Murray, Alpine, Majesty, & Doobie all enjoyed their walks today, getting plenty of exercise, sniffing, exploring, and, of course, lots of happy tail wags!

Zamboni and I spent some extra time in downtown Plymouth working on her skills in a busier environment, and she is doing AMAZING! We’re working around more distractions, people, sounds, and activity, and she is showing just how much all that practice is paying off. Watching a dog become more confident and comfortable in new environments is one of my favorite parts of training!

Our next round of dog obedience classes with Smith River Pet Care starts Sunday, August 23!

Choose from Puppy, 6+ Month, or Level 2 group classes, or try our new Drop-In Training Classes for just $30/class. Each drop-in session focuses on a different real-life training topic, including loose leash walking, reliable recall, settling, tricks, and confidence building.

5-week group sessions: $180
