April is National Heartworm Awareness Month. The southeast is a hotbed for this mosquito-transmitted disease in dogs and cats. There have been a number of generic topicals and a few oral products approved in recent years that carry a lower cost to prevent the disease. This is one of those diseases that can cost several hundred dollars to treat and can cause permanent and even fatal damage to a dog’s heart and lungs. Ask your veterinarian about options for prevention.

This year, we welcome the Year of the Horse 🐎—a symbol of strength, dedication, compassion, and tireless energy.

These qualities reflect the heart of our practice and patient care. Every day, we strive to show the horse’s resilience through long hours and complex cases while still showing up for our clients. Its loyalty through advocating for patients who can’t speak for themselves, and its compassion through the care we provide for both you and your loved fur babies. The year of the horse reminds us that great patient care is built on hard work, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of every life entrusted to us.

We thank you all for such an amazing 2025, and cannot wait to serve you in 2026😊
