This beautiful girl gets groomed every 3 weeks to ensure her coat stays mat-free, healthy, and in tip-top shape. But regular grooming provides so many benefits beyond maintaining a beautiful coat.
One of the biggest reasons I encourage my clients to stay on a consistent 4–6 week grooming schedule is the relationship and trust that develops between your dog and their groomer. 🤍
Think about it—there are 52 weeks in a year. For my clients who are groomed every 2 weeks, I see them roughly 26 times a year. My 3-week clients, about 17 times a year. My 4-week clients, around 13 times a year. That consistency makes a tremendous difference in how comfortable and confident a dog becomes with the grooming process, especially for dogs who experience anxiety or nervousness.
Over time, they learn my routine. They become familiar with my touch, my voice, the sounds of the equipment, and the environment inside the mobile spa. They know what to expect, and most importantly, they learn that they are safe with me. That trust cannot be rushed—it is built through consistent, positive experiences.
Mobile grooming already helps eliminate many of the stressors associated with traditional grooming. There are no crowded salons, long waits in kennels, car rides back and forth, or multiple dogs being groomed around them. Your dog receives one-on-one attention in a calm, familiar environment right outside their home.
But consistency is still such an important part of creating the best possible experience. When too much time passes between appointments, grooming can become more uncomfortable due to matting, overgrown nails, impacted coat, or simply because the process no longer feels familiar.
For me, grooming has never been about simply getting a dog clean or giving them a beautiful haircut. It is about building a relationship with each dog, learning their individual needs and boundaries, and creating an experience where they can feel safe and cared for.
