Loose dog in Plainwell, corner of Main Street and Cherrywood

02/03/2026

For the past several months people have been asking how I am doing and honestly I have not been able to post an update because I am still struggling.

After clear CT and Bone scans in September of 2024, I took myself off chemo against doctors orders. From January to June of 2025, I fought a life threatening blood infection that went undetected that entire time. Despite having monthly blood draws, being under close doctor supervision and me TELLING my doctors something was WRONG, so VERY, VERY frustrating to say the least. Once discovered that sent me to the emergency room where I was admitted for an emergency procedure. The hospital wanted to admit me for one to two weeks to clear the infection because it was so severe. Once again against doctors orders I checked myself out after 24 hours and was on a plane to Mexico where I received two weeks of intensive care. So that was 2025 a little rough to say the least.

2026 has also started out with a big bang. I am once again finding myself looking at yet another STAT procedure, for another life threatening condition.

Thank you for all your support, kind words, healing energy, prayers and positive comments to lift me up. I feel like I am on a roller coaster not wearing my seat belt going 100 mph upside down, jerking left, jerking right and going around and around on this awful roller coaster I can’t seem to get off even though I am trying so hard.

I am doing my best to continue working please understand if I have to cut back or make cancellations. Thank you for giving me the space and privacy to rebuild myself, again.

A very special THANK YOU to Taylor at Gracefully Made Photography for taking such amazing pictures of my family giving me a HUGE much needed POSITIVE boost at the end of 2025.

I am very blessed.

From Stage 4 Metastatic Cancer to Remission in 14 months!

I can’t thank you enough for all the prayers, healing thoughts and positive energy everyone has been sending my way. I am happy to tell you it has all paid off!

After 2 different chemotherapies, 3 different immuno-therapies, countless hours of IVs, hyperthermia sessions, hyperbaric chamber sessions, therapy sessions, countless supplements, herbs and homeopathics as well as 9 weeks of highly intensive and cutting edge therapies in Mexico I am in remission!

I am not out of the woods as my cancer is metastatic and very aggressive but for now I am moving forward past this nightmare.

AN ENORMOUS THANK YOU to everyone who has graciously shown their support: some with time, some with service, some financially, some with hugs and well wishes. We greatly appreciate ALL of YOU very much! Yesterday was a beautiful day in a special place. Scott and I are very humbled. Time did not allow us to visit personally with everyone but please know how much it meant to us that you were there. We could feel all the love and support from everyone even those who were unable to attend. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Much Love, Shawn & Scott
