• Good for the farrier
• Easy-keeper
• Leads, loads, ties (hesitates a little with loading)
• Generally great ground manners with the exception of some pushyness
• Walk, gait, lope
• Smooth gaits and up transitions
• Picks up his leads
• Has some fun buttons like leg cues and sidepass up to the mounting block!
• No buck or bite

Jake is a super fun horse and loves having a job to do! He will need an experienced hand because he is young, would be considered green-broke, and has some bad habits that we have been working through, as well as some anxiety, and he will need continued guidance until he is solid.

Jake has some experience on the trails, although he needs confidence building and miles before he will be solid.

Me and Pixie's trail pattern from the Twisted K Ranch this past weekend!
I know our pattern was pretty rough in some spots.

It was hot and we weren't feeling as sharp and peppy as we usually do, but we did it anyway and had fun while we were at it. I'm just happy with our transitions and that Pixie picked up her least favorite lead when I needed her too! 😆

We only did three classes and placed 6th in our rail class, 2nd in in-hand trail, and didn't place in our under-saddle trail pattern as far as I know. (We had to leave before we knew our placings at the end of the day.)

It has been a fun change from the usual c**t starting that is commonly the routine for me and being able to work on some more advanced things with this client horse, Chance!
Don't get me wrong, though, I still love c**t starting. 😄

🐴 Introducing my new project! 🐴

Meet Revere (after Paul Revere)!
I decided on a patriotic name in honor of the USA's 250th anniversary this year. 🇺🇸

Revere is a 4 year-old, and although she is almost all black, she is a Foundation Appaloosa × Mustang cross that I took in almost two weeks ago now.
Her sire, the Foundation Appaloosa in her, is black, and her dame, an Oregon Mustang, is also black, with a few white spots.

Appaloosa × Mustang is not a typical cross you find, but the Appaloosa breed's history was Indian (specifically Nez Pierce) ponies, which were likely descendants of Spanish Mustangs.
When the Nez Pierce first bred Appaloosas, they were called Palouse horses after the Palouse river on their land in Washington and ldaho.

Keep an eye out for updates on Revere! I'm excited to see where I can take this filly over the next several months!

Hallie was dropped off at her new home yesterday!

Hallie was a super fun horse to have during her time with me and we will definitely miss her, but she is in good hands where she will be a great kids' horse, with plenty of buddies (including cows).

Training Availability:
If you are looking to get in my training schedule for this year, please note that my next current availability opens up in July (2026).
Whether you are a new or return client, I can add you to my schedule! I am not limited by seasons, thanks to a nice indoor arena.

Regarding Training Services:
I am no longer offering travel-to training services to new clients for the foreseeable future. Although it may not be exciting news for those who prefer those services, but I am looking forward to less driving and more training!

Willow the Mustang has been doing a lot of growing up and is learning to work through problems!

While most horses I have worked with like to take flight when scared, Willow will freeze first and if the pressure persists she will spin away, suck back and back up fast, or if I am not holding the lead rope she will take flight, but she will always try freezing first.
An example of this would be: she is "fine" if you throw the tarp over her back when she is standing, but not if you ask her to move forward with it on her back. That also means that she is okay with me mounting her, but can only handle so much forward motion with me on her before she has a reaction.
I don't expect any horse not to spook at all, but I do want them to respond instead of reacting.

Although progress has been a little slow, it has been rewarding!
