Fun in the Sun 2026
Here’s my day recap!

I’m really late but I finally had some time and energy to write all my thoughts on my first grooming competition! I had so much fun. The anxiety a few days before the competition had it completely melted away by that morning.

Khan went from running around a grassy muddy field to standing proud for me in the ring. I couldn’t be more grateful for his start with his breeder Ann Wheeler - Nipigon Poodles. I came into the competition with LOTS of coat and LOTS of hope for some placement 😂

The poodle workshop recently with Irina Pinkusevich helped me so much. Pina was right, I didn’t have quite the time to finish him even though I ambitiously wanted to try anyways. And I made some pretty stupid mistakes like combing through the finishing spray😂 I came away from the ring like WHY was I doing that?!

Above all, I’m proud of myself for getting there and looking back at my progress. It was such a learning experience. Sharing the ring with people I know was so exciting even though I didn’t place. Thank you to the friendly faces that were willing to help, remind me of ring procedure, and take pictures! Even though I can look so awkward 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

A big thank you to judge Teri DiMarino for her critiques and encouragement during prejudging and after scissors down.

I came home with a new fire and definitely lots of goodies from the trade show. It won’t be the last time by far I’m in the competition ring!☺️

Katie needs a home! 🐾

Katie is Looking for Her New Home! 🏡

Katie is a spunky, fun 4 year-old Yorkie looking for a loving new home.

I’ve had the pleasure of grooming Katie since she was a puppy, so I know her well. She’s energetic, playful and full of personality, but she’s also perfectly happy sitting with you on the couch and enjoying some attention.

Unfortunately, due to their age and health, Katie’s owners are no longer able to give her the care and activity she needs, and they’ve made the difficult decision to find her a new home.

Because they’re no longer able to walk her regularly, Katie does occasionally have accidents in the house. They’ve tried p*e pads, but in true Katie fashion, sometimes she thinks they’re more fun to tear up. With a consistent routine, regular potty breaks and someone willing to work with her, I think she could do really well.

Katie has not been around children, other dogs, cats or other animals, so we simply don’t know how she would do with them. Because of that, she’ll need a patient, dedicated home willing to take things slowly if other pets or children are involved.

She really is a sweet, FUN little dog with so much personality, and I think with the right person or family, Katie will be an absolutely wonderful companion. ❤️

If you think you might be the right home for Katie, please reach out to me. 🐾

Please share to find Katie a loving home !
