Tonight, our hearts are heavy at Fette Veterinary as we said goodbye to a very special member of our community, K-9 Officer Willem (Ret.) of the Hermitage Police Department.
K-9 Officer Willem, a devoted partner to Officer Marc Frampton and a faithful servant to this community, completed his final watch on October 1, 2026.
For years, Willem stood beside Marc and served the people of Hermitage with courage, loyalty, and purpose. With more than 200 deployments throughout his career, his service reached far beyond what most people will ever see or fully understand. He helped protect officers, families, and an entire community—and for that, we all owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude.
At Fette Veterinary Clinic, we had the privilege of caring for Willem and getting to know both him and Marc over the years. That made tonight especially difficult for our team.
Willem was far more than a police K-9. He was a partner, a protector, a friend, and a deeply loved member of Marc’s family.
Marc, thank you for sharing Willem with this community and for giving him a life filled with purpose, dignity, and love. The bond between a K-9 and his handler is extraordinary, and it was an honor for our team to witness even a small part of the bond the two of you shared.
To K-9 Willem: thank you for every call answered, every shift worked, every officer you stood beside, and every person you helped keep safe.
Your work is finished.
Your watch has ended.
Rest easy, Willem. You served with honor.
