Thank you to everyone who joined us in the forest this Memorial Day weekend!
This holiday means more than a long weekend. We pause to remember and honor those who believed in the American cause and fought for the right to live in a free nation.
We especially want to recognize the men, women, horses, and mules who endured war side by side, particularly those who never made it home. Long before trail rides were a peaceful pastime, horses carried soldiers through battlefields, rough country, and uncertain times.
Every quiet ride through these mountains is a privilege bought by sacrifice. We believe the best way to respect their sacrifice is not only to remember it, but to remain worthy of it by preserving the freedoms, public lands, and values they fought to protect.

It's that time of the year again, the Little River Pro Valley Rodeo will be back in town Aug 7th and 8th! We had a great turn out last year in local sponsorship and even with the rain our attendance was still around 5,000 people for the entire weekend!

As always the proceed will go to help a local family, this year we are donating to the McCall Family. Sam and McKenna McCall have a 9 month old son named Boone who is currently battling AML Leukemia at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC. He is already facing challenges during his treatment including several brain bleeds and two blood clots on the brain. We hope our community will come together to support the McCall family as they battle this diagnosis.

Dupont State Forest is home to some of the best wildflowers WNC has to offer! Natural biodiversity combined with sustainable forestry management equals lots of special gems thriving on the forest floor

Blooms right now include: Pink Lady Slipper Orchids, Dog-hobble blossoms, Frasier Magnolia Flowers, Flame Azalea, Crested Dwarf Iris, and Mtn Laurel, which is just getting started!

Honorable mention to multiple special of ferns as well!

We are so proud of our sweet Louise the Mule for absolutely shining on her very first trail ride! She had the best day on the job- meeting new people, earning compliments, and proving herself to be the wonderful partner we knew she’d be.

We’re incredibly grateful to share a multi-use trail system with such kind and respectful users. A special thank you to the bikers who slowed down, gave her space, and helped make her first experience such a positive one. She had a great first impression of the MTB community!

And a big shoutout to Haste Draft Horses and Mules for connecting us with Louise. If you’re looking for an honest, reliable seller with quality animals, Steven Haste is your guy!
