This is the wonderful rescue group I foster for. Liz is an amazing woman who never stops. She reminds me of my favorite rescue person from IL. Love you Sue from A Tail of 4 Paws! I am in awe of both of these women and their relentless dedication to helping so many dogs in need. Liz has a dream! Just knowing her, I know it will come true! I am sharing this post and the one where she decides to go for it. Go girl go! She has such a huge following that it shouldn't be a problem for her to get the funding she needs. I'm hoping you all may be able to donate and possibly share this post to any of your animal loveing friends. The quicker we can get this barn up the more dogs she can save. I was lucky enough to foster Pumpkin and Charlie who are now part of my pack. ❤️
For the past year I have been contemplating a thought 💭. What if Small But Mighty had an on-site facility that houses rescues AND is a way for the community to engage more in the rescue world?
The idea 💡
1. Build a climate controlled pole barn that allows SBM to rescue more dogs.
2. The facility will also function as a community center for events that enhance rescue support, involvement, and education. Think doggie yoga classes, educational workshops, support groups, volunteer opportunities! Not to mention a permanent spot for our Posh Garage Sale which could be held more than once a year.
3. We recognize that potential adopters want to meet dogs prior to adoption. Our Foster program, while effective, limits interaction prior to adoptions. An on-site facility allows human-rescue connections.
4. We also recognize that people WANT to help but not everyone can foster. An on-site facility allows more opportunities to have supporters help us in our mission.
5. A facility lets us do MORE! We could save more dogs WHILE we educate!
The HUGE 🏔️ to climb.
1. While the location of the facility would be right here in Campobello, SC on donated land, we need to raise $250,000 - $300,000 to build a proper facility. This is a daunting task. 😬😳😱😰
2. We would NEED assistance. This is truly a huge ask and only through some pretty big donors could we make it happen. Yes, we are pursuing grant opportunities but it’s a crowded market.
3. We need help! Do you or someone you know know how to solicit for Corporate sponsors or large fundraising? Because this is WAY out of my league BUT I know it’s possible. 💪
Small But Mighty has been in operation for over 6 years now. What I have learned is that nothing will change for our four legged friends unless we think bigger and better. Our tiny rescue has saved over 1,500 dogs since we opened up and we have made it happen because of our community and your support. But it’s time to think bigger and different.
