Sharing for our friends at Wild About Cats because it has been a challenging summer in our area due to an explosion of kittens and cats needing rescue, sterilization and rehoming.

Friends, we're reaching out because our veterinary funds are almost gone. It's been a tough summer.

Here's the latest example: Bobbie picked up the cat below, she calls him Bing, from a residential area in Helena. His hindquarters are severely injured because apparently someone set lion hunting dogs on him. The picture had to be cropped to post because it's very upsetting. Dr. Scott, who is treating him, said it was the worst case of a dog mauling he's ever seen. He has many bone-deep wounds and is fighting infection. He's a nice cat with chance of surviving but his care comes with a price.

We've also rescued many kittens, often with upper respiratory infections requiring treatment. We have a tiny kitten that will need eye surgery next month. And this is addition to the dozens of spays and neuters we do.

Your donations to replenish this fund would be so much appreciated. You can give at our website (link in the comments below). Donations can also be sent to Wild About Cats, PO Box 7866, Helena MT 59604. Sharing this helps too!

How many cats can you fit in a car? Our Board member Becky says it's like playing Tetris, only with cat carriers. Today 15 male cats traveled to the vet (not in one vehicle 🙂) and arrived back home "ball-less and flawless". Thanks to everyone that made a great choice to get those guys fixed. If you want to donate to help us assist with even more dog and cat spay/neuters visit our website at www.helenapets.org. We'll have news about clinics in September soon.

Update! This clinic is full!! We will be scheduling clinics for both male and female cats in September so if you would like to get on the list please call our hotline at 406-465-0009. Thanks everyone for sharing. We were blown away by the response.

We are so happy to be tomorrow's featured non-profit at Helena's Alive at Five! The proceeds from wristband sales will go to HAFOP so that we can provide even more badly needed spay/neuter assistance this year. And the music promises to be just right to shake a tail to. Be sure to stop by the tent and say hello.
